I have tried online dating and the only matches that wanted to meet me were men twice my age and I am just not comfortable dating someone in their 40’s or 50’s.

I’m a guy and most of the mail I get is from senders two or three years my senior.

The average age of guy that sent me mail has been around 47. I don’t understand why when in my profile it says that I have an age range that I am looking in. But then again the site I am on also suggests that I change that range to get more matches.

Perhaps you have an attractive photo there, not like you should remove it just for this reason. Men well into their middle age may be looking for someone without issues, problems, mannerisms, someone who hasn’t burnt out yet. Or they may be looking for a fling or trying to be sugar daddies, depending on their individual sincerity.
 
Never married. But it’s something I pray or think about everyday. Nothing would make me happier than to find that special girl who I can love, cheerish, and serve for the rest of my days. Sadly the vast majority of girls I meet are way too immature to date. Even some 5-7years older don’t seem to have their head on straight. I need someone who will appreciate me for my values. An honest relationship really seems unlikely these days, well at least in my age bracket. Those who know me well think of me as an anomaly(too mature for my age) as well, so that’s probably the biggest factor.

At any rate. Although being single isn’t the most enjoyable attribute of my present life I know He will send her my way when we are both ready. Until then, I guard with all my strengh the gift God gave me that I am keeping for her and only her. That being said I encourage others to do the same. 🙂

Phat chance. Realistically… I’d only find myself sitting it out in a court room somewhere like a chump while the feminist lawyers, judge and jury carve me up like a Thanksgiving day turkey and I know it.

So… I’m gonna’ always be single. Too bad, 'cause I’d have made a good family man and a father. 😉
 
I’m 26, never married before, always been a virgin, never dated (i wanted to date only with a girl who I’m sure will be my lifepartner). Now I got a relationship for 4 years, and getting married next year 😃

As a women roughly the same age as you. the 30 to 40 year old men seem to be the hardest to find. I meet lots of 24 to 28 year olds and then 40 to 50 year olds but nobody in between. Whats a girl to do?

I know beckers!!! I have been praying for almost six years for a future husband and NOTHING has happend… :mad:
 
Just curiously, what are everyones opinions on the whole “How young is too young” subject for Online Dating?

And offline you’d have to hire an investigation agency for that too. It’s just that when someone meets a con or psycho on the Internet, the Internet gets the blame. But when the Internet is not involved, then obviously “real life” doesn’t get the blame, which goes to all sorts of factors. Be cautious but don’t fear the Internet. (And don’t trust people unreservedly just because you see them face to face.)

I completely agree with this. Just be very careful like you would be in real life (and vice versa).

You’re much more likely to get scammed offline than online, so don’t let that deter you. So many people have had success online that it would be a shame to write it off over incidents which are disproportionately publicized. As Chevalier mentions, as long as you are cautious like you’d be in person, there’s nothing to worry about.

Online has some distinct advantages. If you know what you’re looking for – a devout Catholic with a similar worldview, it’s much easier to find one on an aggregated site then at a bar or even at the office. Similar to why people often recommend church groups to find spouses, Catholic dating sites are well worth a try – both offer higher concentrations of the qualities that you desire in a spouse.

under 18 is not allowed on the site I was on (CatholicMatch), and I think that’s a good rule. I see no reason why someone in their late teens or early 20s should be prevented from dating online
