Neverending temptations

Please pray that God would give me the strength to resist numerous temptations that seem to assail me almost constantly… or that if it’s His will they would cease 😦

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of thy Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.

We can feel very alone sometimes when struggling with our thoughts and feelings.
Lord please give rewarding and helpful directions to Monica’s thoughts and feelings. Help her to occupy herself with positive and helpful activities and thought. Please help her to feel more confident and less lonely, as she strives to live in practical kindness to others, and in wholesome enjoyment and use of her talents.
 
Lord, strengthen Monica against the spiritual assaults of this world. We occupy a battlefield, O Lord, and we pray that Monica will receive Your assistance and guidance as she fights the army of the evil one. Lord Jesus, we are tested by temptation as gold is tested in fire. The reward of eternal life which You purchased for us at the cost of Your blood is our goal. Grant that Monica focuses her strength on fighting the proper battle while accepting her faults and failings as her cross to bear. Let her not injure herself, but rather recover from each loss, while praising Your Name and struggling on as You did under the weight of the cross. Blessed Jesus, let us draw strength both from Your presence within us in the Holy Eucharist, as well as from the wisdom of Saint Francis de Sales:

“For whether we desire it or not, we shall be tempted. If we do not struggle, we shall not be victorious, nor shall we merit the crown of immortal glory which God has prepared for those of us who are victorious and triumphant. Let us fear neither the temptation, nor the tempter, for if we make use of the shield of faith and the armor of truth, they will have no power whatsoever over us.” Amen! Alleluia!

Praying that you will keep vigilant and prayerful…and that you are able to resist the temptations that come your way. May you know that every temptation resisited gains merit for your soul. (Just think of all the merit you are gaining by being assailed so much!)

The Lord, Shepard and Host​

The Lord is my shepard;

Dearly Beloved Monica,

From one who has been tempted and fallen so many times
And from one who through the intercession of Mary our Mother,
And the sacrament of confession
Was finally set free.
A prayer for you that you too may be set free from this bond of temptation and sin.
 
Merciful father, thank you for granting this poor soul the strength she needs to resist temptations.
