Rumour has it that the bishop who pulled the trigger on the “married” gay Catholics in Atlantic Canada will be named the new Archbishop of Toronto. Archbishop Terrence T. Prendergast, S.J. served as an auxiliary In Toronto a few years ago.

Anyone else heard this rumour?

God Bless

Just got a call from the same buddy who told me the rumour and he said it is all wrong they just appointed Archbishop Thomas Collins from Edmonton to Toronto

Archbishop Collins, born in Guelph, Ontario, was ordained a priest in 1973. He was named Bishop in 1997 and appointed Archbishop of Edmonton in 1999. He has also served as Rector of St. Peter’s Seminary in London.

God Bless

That is my Archbishop!! We will be sorry to see him go. A very faithful Bishop. Perhaps Bishop Fred Henry of Calgary will become Archbishop. Hope so. stjulie

Archbishop Collins is awesome!!! Go my first reconcilliation from him. He has turned around the liberal seminary here and we now have the largest class at Newman in 20 years!!!👍

Archbishop Marcel Gervais of Ottawa is retiring this year, and I heard that Archbishop Prendergast was going to replace him.

I am not sure what is meant by “pulled the trigger on married gay Catholics.” Can you please clarify?
