One thing of note in Woodward’s book, is that there are no claims of Russia-Trump collusion. This seems a notable omission. For that matter, none of the criminal charges or guilty pleas have anything to do with Trump-Russia collusion, or even anything to do with the Trump campaign. Odd that…
You have an advance copy?
Well we don’t yet know what’s in Woodward’s book.
ucfengr has gone deathly quiet on that one…🤔🤔🤔🤔

Do you think Our Lord may be letting us know that he is sending us His help to defeat the butchering of His infants - and that Our Blessed Mother is reaching out always - to protect them by changing the hearts of lustful, promiscuous women to use their bodies to create Life and then destroy it? Don’t peddle your propaganda of support for the horrific abuse of Roe vs Wade. It was a mistake by the
Supreme Court to even hear it - when they make such a mistake it takes many years to correct.

YRoe was confirmed by Casey v planned parenthood.

Two Reagan appointees helped confirm, Kennedy and O’Connor.

As more years pass, it becomes harder to find judges with backgrounds in pro-life cases.

Kavenagh and Gorsuch were children when Roe was decided.

I’m not sure it will be overturned.

And adding , the partial birth abortion ban is not a complete ban on late abortions. Just one specific procedure.

I’m not sure the man who has described himself as a poster boy for the culture of death (promiscuity is one facet of the culture of death) really cares about abortion at all.

If by “His help,” you mean Donald Trump, no, I don’t think so.

You don’t know that any more than you know what’ s in the center of a black hole. But it isn’t entirely, exactly that. Completely aside from my hope that it will be overturned, I also have contempt for a party that supports it, and will not vote for any of them.
Overturning supreme Court rulings, particularly ones confirmed by other rulings, is pretty unlikely, and if that’s what is driving you, then I’d advise you to be prepare for a lifetime of disappointment.
Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973),[1] is a landmark decision issued in 1973 by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of the constitutionality of laws that criminalized or restricted access to abortions. The Court ruled 7–2 that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman’s decision to have an abortion, but that this right must be balanced against the state’s interests in regulating abortions: protecting women’s health and protecting the potentiality of human life.[2] Arguing that these state interests became stronger over the course of a pregnancy, the Court resolved this balancing test by tying state regulation of abortion to the third trimester of pregnancy.

Later, in Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992),[3] the Court rejected Roe’s trimester framework while affirming its central holding that a woman has a right to abortion until fetal viability.[4] The Roe decision defined “viable” as “potentially able to live outside the mother’s womb, albeit with artificial aid.”[5] Justices in Casey acknowledged that viability may occur at 23 or 24 weeks, or sometimes even earlier, in light of medical advances.[6]
Overturning Roe Vs Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey would create a Constitutional Crisis concerning Due Process
Planned Parenthood v. Casey, 505 U.S. 833 (1992),[1] was a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the constitutionality of several Pennsylvania state statutory provisions regarding abortion was challenged. The Court’s plurality opinion reaffirmed the central holding of Roe v. Wade[2] stating that “matters, involving the most intimate and personal choices a person may make in a lifetime, choices central to personal dignity and autonomy, are central to the liberty protected by the Fourteenth Amendment.”[3] The Court’s plurality opinion upheld the constitutional right to have an abortion while altering the standard for analyzing restrictions on that right, crafting the “undue burden” standard for abortion restrictions. Planned Parenthood v. Casey differs from Roe, however, because under Roe the state could not regulate abortions in the first trimester whereas under Planned Parenthood v. Casey the state can regulate abortions in the first trimester, or any point before fetus viability and beyond as long as that regulation does not pose an undue burden on an abortion. Applying this new standard of review, the Court upheld four regulations and invalidated the requirement of spousal notification.

Trump is a flawed man, but he is no different than JFK. JFK forced himself on an intern. I by no means will applaud Trumps behavior. However his economic policies are working. HIs SC nominees are and will do a great job. Just as we have had flawed Popes in the past, yet they were great leaders I feel that same for Trump.

However his economic policies are working
Not really, if you look at the graphs, they are a fairly a straight line. If Trump had any effect, you would see a dip in the line. But alas there is none.

Please, did you need to wonder when I typed “His help” and identifying Our Lord? Maybe He may very well use President Trump to bring about some purpose known only to God. Do you deny His Power?

Just wait for the Red Tide. People are feeling better about the economy. People are doing better under Trump that with Bush or Obama.

God does not contradict anyone’s free will, not mine, not yours, not the POTUS’.

Could our President have a conversion experience, repent of his sins and become a faithful Catholic and example to all of us? Absolutely! I pray for that every day, God can work great miracles. So far, we have zero evidence of such.

No retreat. No man can know the soul of another. One can make judgments about the objective evil or good of a man’s actions and what those actions suggest subjectively.
That is fair. But it is a complete retreat from the position you defended earlier, in post #149,
Not at all, and Post 149 wasn’t my post anyway. But think what you want.

No retreat. No man can know the soul of another.
It is terribly sad that you defend Trump even to the limit of denying that the Pope lacks the authority to question “another man’s religion or faith”. Please reconsider.

No it wouldn’t. The Supreme Court has, from the very beginning, asserted the power to determine what the constitution is or isn’t. It’s declarations may be questioned, but by definition they do define the constitution. t may be noted that even Ginsburg rejects the nonsensical “penumbra” reasoning in Roe. But until five justices overturn Roe, it’s “the law of the land”.

I doubt the Pope himself claims the ability to determine whether another man is, or is not, a Christian. He may well say a particular action is contrary to the tenets of Christianity, but he cannot declare the nature of a particular person’s relationship with God.

But if you find a quote of Pope Francis’ in which he claims the ability to discern the condition of the soul of another man, then we can compare what he says about that with what he said about walls and consider whether he meant Trump in saying that.

Personally, I’m not aware of Pope Francis ever saying Trump is not a Christian. But if you have that quote from a reliable source, produce it so we can all see it.

No it wouldn’t.
That is your opinion.

Starting in the 1920s, the Supreme Court began holding that the due process clause recognizes rights involved or related to family.

There were first two decisions called Meyer v. Nebraska and Pierce v. Society of Sisters, and those both enveloped parents’ rights to direct the upbringing of their children.

Over the decades, especially once you got into the ’60s and early ’70s, the court held that the right to privacy also encompassed things like the decision to marry; the decision to use contraception, either for married couples or single people; and other decisions involving parenting.

So by the time you got to Roe, the court was thinking of the abortion decision as part of a network of decisions touching on family reproduction and marriage.
