Dear Friends,
If you are interested in a traditional Carmel, full habit, and Teresian
spirituality without age or health restrictions, please join us in the St.
EdithSteinCarmel Yahoo Group. We are being advised by Mother Mary Elizabeth from
the Clinton Township Carmel on key points around the new foundation. We have a
potential Carmel monastery located in Austin, Texas that can accommodate 4 - 8
Sisters at this point. (As Mother pointed out Carmels are often located in urban
areas and we can start small. The Detroit Carmel started out in a small suburban
home with only 4 Sisters!)
An online “Formation Group” is being formed now that will have in-depth study
and readings, discussions, teleconferences and a basic horarium culminating in a
Discernment Live-In in the Fall of 2009. No decision has been made yet on the
Rule and Constitutions that we will be following - that will be part of our
online Formation Group’s challenges to discern!
If this sounds interesting, and you feel the Lord’s nudging you to explore a
vocation to Carmel, we ask you to please take the following anonymous survey:

and then join us in the St.EdithSteinCarmel Yahoo Group.
You may also contact me privately if you have other questions and/or wish to
express interest, as well.
Blessings to all!
