Needless to say, Cardinal to be Archbishop Raymond Burke is not going to be very popular with the “in” crowd. I love what he says, but he is fighting an uphill battle. Pray for him, A LOT!

I’ve been trying for over forty years to get Popes, bishops to OBEY Canon Laws #912 # 915 # 1329 #1398 AND Follow Church Doctrine by Excommunicating all bishops,priests,Polititins who AID, ABET and Counsel abortion and\or homosexuality? They MUST destroy the "IN " Crowd before the “in” crowd destroys Catholic Identity at Notre Dame and 96 other Catholic Universities? We also have an uphill battle, no one listens to the faithfull catholic ,but listen to the more vocal "in " crowd.

God bless Cardinal Burke. We are being blessed with a new generation of bishops and cardinals who have no fear or reservation in carrying out the responsibilities of their office. It was a disgrace to see the most pro abortion politican in US history honoured at the most recognized Catholic university in the nation.

The Church’s role is to teach and offer us the path to Salvation, not follow our every move. God gave us free will so ultimately our choices and their consequences are our own. Abortion is a violation of the Fifth Commandment and if we condone it we are guilty of mortal sin. Remember the Last Four Things: Death, Judgement, Heaven, Hell.And I suppose he’s going to follow every Catholic into their polling booth.

Remember too it is God who knows the heart. And in doing so I imagine God has the capacity to read one’s heart and motives for their actions and reasons for their voting habits in American elections. God bless!

You are right, you can’t be pro choice and a true Catholic. However, I have gotten so disillusioned over the lame brains (yep, judgemental) who won’t even read a voting record, that I am ready to wash my hands of them.
I think it was Lincoln who said of people who turn their backs to the fire that they will just have to sit on their blisters.

So you think He will understand when a person, said to be Catholic, in his/her own words, sees the truth in front of him and disregards it, because of “personal” motives. S/he is wiser than God, or the Magisterium, or a Cardinal? Now that is pride. Wrongful, but pride.
America’s Catholics, for the most part. have been so inundated with the Protestant belief of moral subjectivism, Rome no longer exists for them. This is Protestant thinking, check it out.
There is no longer a Catholic Culture here in the US. Since Vatican II it has been submerged and swallowed up by secular (Protestant) thinking. No longer do most Catholics consider an authority higher than they as individuals. In trying to make Catholicism better accepted by the Protestant sects, the leaders of the Church have weakened our identity as the one true Church.

There were several, but unhappily only about 1/3 of the hierarchy here in the US spoke out in loud voices against voting for a political party whose platform was pro death.
I don’t remember the names of all of them, but the ones I do remember, Archbishop Burke, Carlson and Hermann of St. Louis, Bishop Finn of Kansas City, the Bishops of Kansas and Nebraska, Martino of Ohio. who even challenged the USCCB on his right to make the decisions regarding voting in his diocese, the two Bishops of Dallas, Ft. Worth, Bishop Vasa, Archbishop Chaput and many others stood up and SHOUTED at the wrongness of the Dem. platform. We should pray for these good and courageous men. The world is against the like of them. Check out their letters to the folks in their parishes in 2008. They were swimming against the tide. Good men, one and all.
Where were the rest of the Bishops in 2008? Practicing Silence. They still are.
