Governor Mitt Romney’s administration is advising hospitals to cross out the word father on birth certificates for the children of same-sex couples and instead write the phrase ''second parent," angering gay and lesbian advocates and city and town clerks who warn that the altered documents could be legally questionable.

What about the word ‘mother’?

Next what’ll they put:
"test tube’ “petrie dish” (instead of Father and Mother)!?

Its a birth certificate, a legal document. no one’s feelings shoudl be taken into account. In the birth of a child tehre is a mother and father ALWAYS. List the mother, and if known, the father. the child, no matter how much she wants it to be is not in any way related to the “second parent”

Is there a rule that government paper work should follow logic or make sense? 😃

Biologically, same-sex couples do not generate children. Not even the Massachusetts supreme court can change biology.

True but they will try.:banghead:

Been thinking about this.
It seems that there is going to be a need for the Church to keep all of our records. The STATE stuff is going to be garbage LOL but our birth, marrage and death certificates kept in the Church will hold the true information. If I remember from my classes in history, the Church is where this sort of information was kept for centuries.

So my vote is let those who want “politically incorrect” junk let them have it.

Just don’t stop those of us that want the correct information from keeping this also.

A birth certificate should have the genetic father and mother listed as it can be used at a later time for certin health issues.

This is why some states place the birth certificates of those who are adopted under a court seal if the “parents” request it. So that at a later time, if necessary, the courts can lift this seal.

So I guess the words father and mother should be removed and repleaced with sperm donor and egg donor.

All I can say is:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: and:whacky: :whacky: :whacky:
