R-not ~

I submit that those that say this is “free speech” are just hiding behind that excuse. I think they’re afraid. Maybe some are simply misguided, but some are afraid of the blowback that might ensue by coming down on this form of hate speech.
Yeah, and we see how muslims whine and wail, and tell us they are persecuted. 🤷 It gets really old really fast.

They can’t practice their venom fully = they are persecuted from practicing their ‘religion’.

I couldn’t agree more. I mean it’s ridiculous they are teaching about Islam in our schools that in-depth information does not even belong in our schools can you imagine if we tried to do that with Christianity! Look at this argument that Muslim women posted on one of my threads:

God created Heaven for the Chosen Prophets & for those who submitted to God alone .

It does not matter what today’s Christians believe or sanction for the last Prophet & others .

God will judge us on the basis of His final holy book , not what His slaves allow today in the west.

So , it’s better if u people stop accusing the last Prophet unnecessarily. Time is limited in this world , try to use it more positively.

I really believe forum participants are capable of writing more positive posts & engage in a dialogue rather than wasting time by bringing false accusations against God’s laws & God’s Prophets (pbut).
Now this is classic. They complain about us talking about Mohammed and all that but then they think it’s perfectly okay for them to trash Christianity and say things like we believe in three gods or we corrupted the Bible etc. etc. but what really got me was when Siste Amy used an arabic phrase without translating them. It reminded me of something that Vicki said when I first came on the board when she said that the Muslims want to convert us I didn’t believe it at the time but now that I’ve seen sister Amy using an Arabic phrase without translating it I find that very disturbing and I think it may be time for me to reevaluate my judgment of Muslims on this board.

Aydan: I will never, ever, ever convert to islam - never!

There is nothing they can say or do and I will die for my Christ before anything like that takes place… !!! 👍

AMEN TO THAT! Don’t get me wrong I love my Turkish friends and my other Muslim friends* but I will never convert to Islam I would rather die first!* But you see that is the difference between Christianity and Islam. Christianity teaches us to love other people even if they are different religion and Islam does not.

Well, muslims do not acknowledge or believe in Jesus mission the way we do! 🤷
but that doesn’t mean that we as Catholic Christians can’t lead by example for instance I have reached out to the Turkish people in my community because I have the ability to help them.

That doesn’t change what Jesus did. He still died for the sins of everyone, not just Christians. He died for Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, all manner of faiths, even atheists. He died for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD and not just those of today, but also those who lived in every time, including the time before He came to live among us.

In the end, what Jesus did is what matters.

I’m not excusing the actions of Islamic radicals, but many Muslims in this world are clearly captives of their faith in one way or another. They cannot convert without risking death because apostasy is grounds for another Muslim to execute the convert.

Just as an example, Salman Rushdie has been living in secrecy for decades, just for writing a book that some people disagreed with, and, as a result, a fatwa was declared against him. Any Muslim is considered virtuous should they kill him. Some persons posting to this thread may not even know who Salman Rushdie is or what book he wrote, because it was a couple of decades ago that the fatwa was issued, but it is still in effect and he still risks death just to be seen in public.

Muslims often have a disordered view, if any, of other faiths. Many simply know no other way. I submit that many such Muslims would not be Muslims if they had another choice. One day they will have that choice, thanks to the infinite mercy of God, mercy that many radical Muslims are opposed to even considering for someone outside their faith. But that is mercy that we know about and have experienced ourselves. Isn’t it lucky for everyone that God is more merciful than any of our sins?

Consider the difference between Christianity and Islam. In Christianity, God is our Father. We have a loving, intimate relationship with God, our Father, and He is infinitely loving despite all our sins, as long as we come to Him for resolution. As a result, many of us do things simply for the joy of pleasing God. We are so grateful to God that we naturally want to please Him.

Islam, in contrast, is about submission. It is not the “religion of peace” that it has been advertised to be, instead it is the “religion of submission”. Notwithstanding the claims of some Muslims that post to this forum, Islam is a faith that makes them into slaves. They are not called to love God or to please God they are called to SUBMIT. Submission is not necessarily an act of the will, it is often an act borne of fear.

God (as opposed to ALLAH, despite the common geneology) gave us free will. We can choose to love Him or NOT. We Catholics choose to love Him and do our best to please Him. 🙂

Islam gives no such choice. Islam requires submission. That’s not a choice, it’s a dictate. The fact that Islam is not of God begins and ends there. Of course, there are other reasons, but that one reason is enough to show that Islam is not of God.

In the meantime, we can continue to speak the Truth.

Hey Aydan ~ the Turkish American ~ his last name is SAID and I trust you know how to pronounce that ~ the one that I know and have known most of his life (who was best man at my son’s wedding a few years past) converted to Catholic at Easter Vigil 2007. Now ~ full disclosure ~ he had a bit more “Heinz 57” ` very American sort of mix in his American genealogy ~ more than just Turk ~ his Dad had other roots and I know his Mom is Irish, Cherokee and more ~ but still…

Bottom line ~ it happens. Eventually. When people have FREEDOM they come to the Truth. Freedom is key.

That’s the remarkable thing about God. He’s ALWAYS been about freedom. He’s always been about choice. Only HUMANS have intervened to substitute their choice for individual choice. This world has only been about freedom for the individual for a very short time, if you consider the history of the world as a whole experience of time America, and the freedoms we have declared, is a relatively radical construct, considering the history of the world in total. We can hope that such freedom can continue. Indeed, it is our job to make it so.

I am thinking about writing to the UC system regents because they are just letting the muslims go wild - hate, anti-semitism, etc. Now, they can bash the USA - that is free speech, but when they start their hate against a group of people - they need to stop that junk. And they make signs, yell, and attack Jews - so it is very much in everyone’s faces their hatred. If we did that to them, or the blacks, or anyone - you better believe that we would be plastered all over the news for bigotry and racism.
I call it “kristallnacht on campus”.

Well, they actually have in their own koran that mohammed is refering to allah as ‘We’ and ‘the best of the creators’. All of which implies more than one god.

AND!! They do indeed worship that black rock and also mohammed and the koran. Their behavior towards these things reflects their worship. Basically, you get killed, they riot, etc over mohammed cartoons or someone saying they flushed the koran while nothing happens if you say something about their moon god.

Go to this thread 'koran mentions more than one God and Jesus Resurrected’‏.

And another thing is that they scurry away if you mention predestination. They are so ashamed of that they cannot even discuss it. It basically invalidates the need for mohammed or the koran, or even that black rock that has consciousness and speaks for them on Judgement Day. And it basically invalidates a need for Judgement day. So all the killing, rioting and poor behavior for allah is all for nothing - they have already been designated for heaven or hell.

Of course! This is a public forum and you can do as you like! Copy freely!

And thank you for the praise, but I don’t deserve it. I owe everything I know to our Holy Mother the Church.

God Bless,
Melanie

We don’t believe in predestination so why is this even an issue?

What a great story that is. The Turkish community that I am part of are refugees many of them are still learning English and they have been through some horrible experiences and unfortunately many Americans do not make it much easier for them they make fun of their English because it isn’t perfect and it’s really sad and that’s what drives me and the other Americans to help these people and show them that people really do care for them. I’ve only recently got involved but let me tell you as a disabled person I have never had such a loving and positive experience that I’ve had with this community.
I really don’t talk about my faith unless I’m asked because to put it politely this population of Turks and its customs were almost wiped out by oppressors. I just do my best to love them just as Christ does and if I’m asked about my religion that when I talk about it. Otherwise I just try to express love in the way that Jesus does.

That’s because Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. Even Muslims.
MelanieAnne allow me to expand on your point here I’m often asked why do I consider myself to be a Turkish Christian and I often get criticized heavily for associating myself with Turkey at all forgive me if I go off-topic in this thread by posting this link but it explains why in my heart and soul I am a Turkish Catholic even if I’m not ethnically Turkish. In my heart I feel as though God is calling me in a special way to stand for the Christians in Turkey because being safely in America I can bring attention and tell people about the Christian community in Turkey and most of all ensure that the Turkish martyrs such as these three men in this video can never be forgotten you see these three men are exactly why in my heart and soul I am in Turkish Catholic because someone has to stand up and represent these people and tell their stories and there is no reason why I cannot do that. If I don’t who will speak for these men and their families?

Warning this video is very disturbing watch at your own risk!

I find that very disturbing and I think it may be time for me to reevaluate my judgment of Muslims on this board.
For muslims, compromise is functionally equivalent to complete, utter and absolute surrender.

Don’t want to derail the thread, I’ll start a new one if nec…

But are all Muslims cut from the same cloth?

I have followed a number of these threads. For example, the subjects of “hadiths” pops up a lot, but AFAIK, Shi’ite Muslims don’t cotton to hadith – they’re “Qu’ran only”, yes? So how would anti-hadith arguments relate against them? That would be similar to using the Book of Mormon against a Catholic.

Also, what about Druze, Isma’ilis, Ahmadis, Baha’i, etc?

Just asking…
