New Lifetime TV series "The Sisterhood: Becoming Nuns"

I would like to finish watching the series, but I probably won’t be able to finish watching it for awhile. Lifetime’s website has it locked for now, and I don’t have cable, so I have to wait 'til they unlock it so that I can finish watching it.

Anyway, I am happy for Christie. I am glad that she decided to become a nun.
 
I’m not going to judge them based on a stupid reality show. I’m not a fly on the wall in their real lives.

And for me, even if I was a fly on the wall in their real lives. I wouldn’t be qualified to make that assessment.

Thanks for posting this, and for sharing this with us. I went and took a look, and I played the most recent video. I am glad to see that Christie is doing well, and that she is song-writing, too. Good for her. 🙂
 
You’re welcome. I read an article that was giving the “after story” of each girl and the girl from New Jersey posted a comment saying that she hasn’t ruled out becoming a nun/sister. She said that six weeks was not long enough to discern and that she is still discerning. I don’t know if this was, in fact the girl or a troll, but the post makes sense. It’s just a TV show. The consecrated life is just that: consecrated LIFE.

It’s a very big step and a very big decision.
 
You’re right about it being a “consecrated life.” When you think about it too, it must have been distracting in a way, to have their lives put on TV in a reality show. I guess that I would find it personally distracting to me, in any event. I would find the cameras distracting, etc. But that’s me. Maybe that didn’t bother them if they are used to social media and having their phones available in their lives before they entered the convent, too, etc.
 
Frankly, I don’t like this whole “reality TV” thing, especially for something so serious as discernment. Why couldn’t they make a documentary along the lines of Into Great Silence? Wait, I know the answer to that: no drama=no ratings. :rolleyes:

So sorry. At the time I wrote that I had a computer virus. Called it the Vanna White virus, would not let me type R L N L S T or E.

Now I have a new machine.

You’re right about that. That is one thing that I have forgotten when it comes to the reality shows, and that is things done to get the ratings, and also situations done for the effect of drama, too. :rolleyes:

There was a contract cameraman working at my wife’s office once who used to film reality shows. If it wasn’t “real enough” (i.e. fighting/arguing) the director had them reshoot the scene. :rolleyes:
