I believe that the 1973 version will no longer be licit as of 5PM next Saturday night, the 26th of November, 2011. As of then, it will be retired, abrogated, yes.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think a priest could still celebrate the Mass of the day after 5:00 using the old missal. I think the technical drop-dead-time would be midnight.

As long as its not a celebration of the 1st Sunday of Advent you might be right. I would guess a Saturday evening wedding would use the old sacramentary. I can’t find any specific decree otherwise.

As long as he’s doing the Vigil mass of the 1st Sunday of Advent, he will have to use the new translation. I believe that he has to use that on Saturday night, if a mass is said after a certain hour of the day, and I believe that hour is 4 or 5PM. Masses on Saturday night are always vigils of the following Sunday. Masses on Saturday morning, on the other hand, use the propers for Saturday.
