I wish the bishops would address the skyrocketing costs of choosing life and maternity leave - unreasonably expensive costs, even WITH insurance, that are difficult to justify in a “pro-life” culture. Aren’t delivery costs any less expensive in Catholic hospitals?

It’s easy to be “pro-life” when you only limit the term to be anti-abortion. Being “pro-life” for the unborn baby’s mommy…a little more difficult.
But then you inflate the true cost - to $25k-$30k with no support … and compare the 9-10 months of caring for not one but two patients in clinic and hospital with many technicians and lab workers … with the purposeful killing and dismemberment of one patient and no real medicare for the the second patient

Castlight’s data shows that the average national cost for a routine vaginal delivery is $8,775. The national average for c-sections is $11,525,

Doesn’t sound inflated to me. The cost for the delivery of each of my daughters was $20K+. And that’s not counting post-natal care, pre-natal care, mom’s hospital stay after delivery, or anything else. That’s what the bill was 30 seconds after my daughters drew their first breaths.

Where was that? How in the world you got ripped off dry?

Make “pro-life” affordable again.

A lot of Catholics need to read this. But instead, they’ve got their made-ready excuses fresh from the secular godless post-modernists.
Agreed. From the article:
Recognizing Catholic legislators who support laws directed at supporting immigrants and the impoverished, the message applauded “their work giving voice to the voiceless.”
My favorite was this:
“We want to be clear,” the bishops concluded. “Individuals and groups do not speak for the Catholic Church. As bishops, we do.”
