(from the article)

The Folsom Street Fair is essentially the public displaying of some of the most deviant and grotesque aspects of homosexuality, featuring not only “leather-clad minions,” but also “fully nude street revelers,” “dominants and submissives,” and “the usual enthusiasts in San Francisco’s leather-clad S&M [sadomasochist] and gay community….” The Fair "receives the full support of the city."

AND

***According to Cal Catholic Daily (Oct. 2), “Most Holy Redeemer’s parish bulletin says that, following the reception and coffee hour for the archbishop, parishioners will then attend the Castro Street Fair, where the parish will have a booth and a ‘Parking Lot Fundraiser by the Young Adult Group.’ The parish is also one of the beneficiaries of the proceeds from the fair, along with the homosexual Metropolitan Community Church, the San Francisco’s Gay Men’s Chorus, and others….” Well, they say you are known by the company you keep.

AND

LifeSiteNews.com reports (Oct. 12) that "In 1986, Niederauer wrote a letter to an Orange County judge asking that a priest convicted of 26 counts of felony child sexual abuse be spared prison time – the priest received no jail time for the offenses. Niederauer wrote that the boys involved might have mistaken ‘horsing around’ for molestation.

AND one more:

***In 1996, as bishop of Salt Lake City, he helped form a coalition of religious leaders opposing the ban on high-school ‘gay-straight alliances’ proposed by the Utah legislature." In our February 2006 Editorial we noted that, before he came to San Francisco via Salt Lake City, Niederauer “pastored a parish in West Hollywood with a large ‘gay’ congregation, where he said that homosexuals are ‘wonderful.’ As Bishop of Salt Lake City, he opposed a constitutional ban on same-sex ‘marriage.’” We’re still waiting for his “apology” for these offenses.

Read the entire article - then call, email, write the nuncio,(Peitro Sambi, Washington, DC) and to the bishops and secretaries of the Sacred Congregation for Bishops:

A good and holy priest said, almost a decade ago, “Rome knows what’s happening - they have to see the outrage of the laity.”

Let’s show 'em outrage.

Benedict knows and still he appointed Niederhauer - and Wuerl for that matter. Again reinfocring my decision under the JP2 pontificate to leave thr Catholic church. The more you read and learn - the more roads lead away from Rome. Don’t be afraid to consider Rome may not be the way.

Obviously you don’t understand the way that the selection of bishops works. The pope does not know all of them personally and relies on what people tell him about them. If people tell him that they will be good bishops and they’re wrong, the pope takes their word for it. The Church is not micro-managed.

I think you made a mistake leaving the Church because of the actions of some of its members. And no, no roads lead away from Rome if you actually read and learn.

In Christ,
Rand

I think some of those people who told the Pope that Niederauer would make a good bishop had the devil on their back.

One presumes he was recommended by his predecessor, Cardinal Levada, who now occupies the pope’s old job as head of the Congregation of the Faith. 😦 Like the USCCB and their movie reviews, if it is being done in his name he better be ready to take responsibility for it.

We must pray that God’s will be done and not man’s. The Church despite being persecuted by unworthy pastors is still standing. Pope Pius VII to Napoleon Bonaparte, “People have tried to destroy the Church for 1500 years and didn’t succeed, and you won’t either.”

I think you shortchange the pope. Didn’t he say “PRIESTS have been trying to destroy the Church for 1500 years and haven’t succeeded. You won’t either.” ? That’s the way I heard it and I ROFL!

Yes, this was how I heard the comment as well
