The picture is beautiful.

God bless the mysticism and venerable and holy vestments of the East!

:gopray:

He seems like he has a mild disposition by his picture.
‘Many Years’…

How wonderful! Many, many happy years to Patriarch Krill!
Many happy years to Venerable Kyrill.

I’m 19. Will I see the holy Orthodox churches reunited with the holy Catholic Church in my lifetime? I hope so.

I have confidence you will, Matariel. 🙂
We need them right now, because of the Church suffering in the west from liberalism, humanism, and liturgical disruption. And horrible “Catholics” who are politicians who support abortion, gay “marriage”, and contraception. This part of Church history would be much more stable if we had the eastern churches in this fight with us.

Amen! I agree totally! 👍

Reunion, in the same sense as the Melkites? not likely.

Communion? quite possibly.

Concelebration? somewhere in between.

Pray for all three.

If one is in** communion** with the Pope doesn’t that automatically mean they’re in a state of reunion?

No. Limited ecclesiastical communion simply means the faithful can be communed in each other’s churches. A stronger ecclesiastical communion would permit concelebration, but would still not be full reunion, where the Petrine role is more than just honorary.

For example, the Assyrian Church of the East is in limited communion with the Chaldean Catholic Church already, but they are not in true union. Concelebration is still prohibited.

Catholicism and Orthodoxy slowly grew apart. It took centuries after 1054 for the split to be finalized in some places.

Maybe it’s in God’s providence for the two churches to slowly grow back together.

ill also be 19 this summer, im a greko-catholic from Romania and to be honest i really dont think that ill see the Reunion in this life, i`ve been on an orthodox forum a few days go and there is very much hatred towards the Catholic Church and everything that it is named “catholic”, heck i even seen this statement from one of them when they were talking about the mormons “i even dare to say that the mormons are more heretic than the catholics” ,

im 100% sure that none of us will see the Reunion, hope im wrong.

you`re kinda right but i see extremism more often on the Orthodox side than the Catholic, but i also hope to have better relations with them.

Me too, but we must be realistic… maybe it’ll take a miracle of God, but let’s hope the Orthodox churches will come to their senses and reunite with the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, in whom unity is found through the Chair of Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles-- and his successor, Pope Benedict XVI.
