I apologize. I looked elsewhere, and didn’t find one. Which folder are the others in?

I feel really fortunate that I don’t watch a lot of TV. Until these stories started popping up here, Fr. Corapi was not on my radar screen. 🤷

My husband won’t take this too lightly. My husband, who is a veteran really looked up to Fr. Corapi and would watch him a lot during his conversion this past year. We will keep him in our prayers, very very sad indeed. And the worst thing is, I can’t imagine how many people might follow him and leave the church due to being deceived. :bighanky: The ironic thing is, however, is that we need to practice our tactics of spiritual warfare against being mislead (this is something he preached on alot) :knight2:

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; dnd do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Still praying for him. And I notice that SOLT continues to refer to him as FATHER Corapi, even though he is not. So I will continue to use that title as well.
He is still FATHER Corapi. He has not, as yet, being laicized though SOLT’s previous statement said they would assist him to do that if he wished.

He is suspended which means he cannot present himself publically as a priest nor engage in ministry as a priest but it doesn’t mean he cannot be addressed as Father.

If this is true,Its really sad to see a man who has done so much good for the faith, be guilty of these crimes. Prayers for you Father Corapi!
Oh, I did not realize that a trial and condemnation and sentencing had taken place.

Until then, it remains all speculation, confusion and misrepresentation.

Actually, no, he’s not FATHER Corapi. He’s Corapi, John, or the BlackSheepDawg.

He’s no longer permitted to use ‘Father’–this would be publicly presenting himself as a priest. You can call him anything you’d like: ‘Corapi,’ ‘0101101100,’ … hell, even ‘TheBlackSheepDawg.’ But we are not bound or encouraged to address him as ‘Father’ and he cannot use this to identify himself.

I’ll stick with TheBlackSheepDawg.

You are correct.
SOLT could be misleading us.

Of course, if that is the case Corapi will have a clear case and could have them effectively shut down with a civil judgement.

So one has to ask…why? What have they to gain?

I do not believe we are being misled by the SOLT.

This is a bombshell. How do I explain this to my 10 year old son who was greatly inspired by Fr. Corapi?

These certainly aren’t crimes (i.e., at least not in the civil sense), but the fact that his ecclesiastical superiors have ruled thusly and issued a public statement alleging gross immorality on Corapi’s part should be enough to say that your ‘… all speculation, confusion and misrepresentation.’ assessment is kind of ‘last month.’

Explain to him that Fr. Corapi is no different and that unfortunately we all fall into sin at one point or another. 😦

Yours in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Tony

Ever since I read about that “false claims” qui tam lawsuit, something struck me as very suspicious in this poor priest. I hope God’s mercy is fulfilled entirely in him and he finds peace, and most especially clemency. 😦

Peter denied Christ.
The Good thief likewise was guilty of untold sins.

And I am sure your son has done things he knew to be wrong.

We can look at this example of human weakness for what it is.
A need for us to continually pray for guidence and help.

A terribly sad situation on all sides 😦 I still love his preaching, and those programs strengthened my faith in many many ways, but I’m so grateful that I take what is good from the person, I don’t follow the person because of who he is but what he preached.

I’d never have guessed that FATHER Corapi (I’m so annoyed when people call him Mr or just Corapi) wasn’t practicing what he was preaching… my prayers are with him, that he may find friendship with God once again. Yep, I do believe that he’s lost his way somewhere… some say he’s only protecting and defending himself, but I see it as breaking his vows and wanting to do what he wants to do.

I’m glad that such an overblown, exaggerated fraud has been exposed. People kept saying “Oh, watch Fr. Corapi; he’s so kind and holy!”, but something struck me as very hyperbolic about him. What about the “oh man” biker dialect, the deep, put-on, “manly” bass voice? Every time he was recommended, I shied away… something seemed very fake or suspicious about his personality. He reminded me of all those T.V. evangelists. This isn’t very shocking or surprising in the least. I hope and pray that God’s mercy falls upon him and surrounds him forever.

It’s disturbing to see how innocent and naieve most Catholics are about this sort of thing. He put on such a mask in all his speeches and lectures. How couldn’t anyone see it? 😦
