Dunno if this has been said already but a hopeful sign is that Russians are embracing Orthodoxy, or so I’ve read. At least with Communism gone it has a chance now to flourish.

I wonder why the Bishop hasn’t begun a Rosary Crusade praying that the SSPX will be fully united to The Catholic Church?

That would seem to be a more beneficial intention, rather than praying for something already accomplished.
Because the doctrinal discussions have not taken place yet.

The sooner you start praying the likelier a restoration of full communion is, and there’s absolutely no reason to wait for the discussions or anything else. In fact prayers offered now will contribute to their success, and lack of them to lack thereof.

I often pray for a happy death for myself and my loved ones - and certainly don’t intend to wait until any of us are on our deathbeds before I start. That would be like waiting until half an hour before an important test to start studying!

The SSPX believe that the talks will be a success, that full communion will be achieved, and that the crisis in the Church will disappear if the Immaculate Heart of Mary triumphs. This Rosary Crusade is not for the SSPX alone. It is for the whole Church.

I don’t know a great deal about the Fatima apparitions, but I do know that the Blessed Mother will help the Church. Bishop Williamson started this Crusade because he believes the triumpth of the Immaculate Heart will usher in a time of great peace and prosperity for the Church.

Regarding the consecration of Russia: There is doubt about whether this was done correctly. We know that John Paul II tried to do this and that Sr. Lucia told him that it had been achieved, but many people within the Church have reasons for doubting this. Therefore, I see no harm in doing another Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart. It will remove and and all doubt.

I won’t read through the 6 pages so this could have been posted before, but if you live in Britain you can officially sign up to the Rosary Crusade by filling this promissory form and sending it off to the address shown.

(You could of course send it from the US, but postage would be high…)

ONE QUESTION though, by “one rosary” does it mean 5 or 15 decades?
Would 15 decades count as 1 or 3 towards the 12,000,000 number we’re aiming for?

We are so missing the point here.

Any Rosary prayed for souls or the good of the Church is not wasted. Even if one were to pray with an intention born of ignorance, sincere intent itself would deliver Our Lady her bouquet. A prayer for the fulfillment of Our Lady’s request is a prayer for peace. Even if the request has been fulfilled, would it not please Our Lady to know these Rosaries are offered by those who love Holy Mother Church enough to offer them ?

Again, even if those with devotion to Fatima are mistaken, this crusade remains a prayer for peace. Not a single Ave will be in vain.

**So please, to the naysayers I must ask

-Do you think these Rosaries prayed will build Faith in those who pray them ? Yes or No ?

-Do you have any doubt they will please Our Lady ? Yes or No ?**

Looking forward to your honest answers 🙂
Lily answered no to both.(thank you for being honest Lily :tiphat:) Anyone else ?

No, I don’t think the intention to “consecrate Russia” would please Our Lady at all. ( I have no idea how Our Lady might think, just my opinion)

But why would she be pleased about an action that is only widening the gulf that already exists between the Vatican and the SSPX?

To continue to sew doubt and confusion is not a work of the Lord.

I have to wonder, if the Pope cannot get this one thing right, which is not (properly speaking) even a sacrament, what in the world could he do right?

He was the Pope for over twenty years and an Archbishop before that, was he not? Does anyone really doubt his sincerity or his ability?

Did he not name many thousands of bishops in his tenure as bishop of Rome? Was he not the central figure in the Magisterium all of those years?

He can do all of that but people think he muddles up this consecration?

To think people actually are willing to believe the Blessed Mother would withhold any kind of help she could give to sincere Christians over the particulars of a formula is sad. People have turned this consecration business from being a plea for divine help into an act of magic. This is what disturbs me the most, a very dangerous attitude for Christians to adopt and a severely poor example for the rest of the world to observe.
***Therefore, I see no harm in doing another Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart. It will remove and and all doubt. ***
How can anyone know that it will remove all doubt?

Perhaps people will claim it was done wrong again, this could go on and on indefinitely. Either the Pope can do it and did, or no Pope ever will, there should be no doubts.

I think it is very disingenuous of the SSPX to use the rosary to sow doubts and raise their own political capital.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with praying the Rosaries but I will be praying them for the SSPX to humble themselves & except all that our Holy Father has said they must do to be in full union with the Church.

For me, to pray the Rosaries for their intentions (consecration of Russia) would be to call our late Holy Father, Blessed John Paul II THE GREAT, sister Lucia & Benedict XVI liars.

JP II’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary was so tremendous & great that I can not comprehend that he would go to his death with this falsehood.

It seems to me that the SSPX keeps shooting themselves in the foot, or is the lifting of the excommunications all they really wanted???

There are NO MORE SECETS!

Food for thought…I just came back from Mass that was celebrated by a young, Polish priest who serves in Bellaruse (sp?) and the Ukraine, and his fellow priests serve in Russia and the Crimea. He said that since the fall of communism in Bellaruse, Mass has finally been able to be said after 70 years of communist suppression. The Catholic Church in Russian is growing and people are rediscovering their faith after the darkness of communism persecuted and forbade public exercise of worship. The same is happening in the former Soviet-bloc nations.

While reading the pamphlet by the sspx for the Rosary Crusade I notice the same fuzzy logic and sense of supposed authority that got the sspx in trouble 20 years ago. They note that Sr. Lucia gave contradictory statements in the 80’s that the consecration had been done, then say that it wasn’t up to Sr. Lucia to determine if it was done or not. Yet, they criticize Pope John Paul’s attempts at the consecration, making themselves the authority as to whether or not it had been done. And the “Errors of Russia” that they list in the pamphlet reeks of their anti-feminism mentality, not the errors of communist suppression of freedom of worship and the suppression of the Church as most have considered them to be. You must remember that in Portugal at the time of the apparitions, the communist were trying to make Lisbon the Leningrad of western Europe. A communist victory in Portugal would have seen a suppression of the Church and the end of Mass in what was once a very Catholic country. Not only did this not happen but Portugal was spared from the devastating effects of World War II.

As has been noted before, what exactly do people expect the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart to be? Some responses sound almost evangelical, not Catholic. We will never see the establishment of Justice and Peace here on earth; that is what awaits us when we are united with Our Lord in Heaven. What more could one want?

“Enlighten especially the people whose consecration and entrusting you are **awaiting **from us.” H.H. JPII after he consecrated the world.
Is Russia part of the world ? Yes.

Did H.H. JPII say this ? Yes.

So, whether one has devotion to Fatima or not, I find it very hard to fault this intention.

Where the SSPX is involved, there is always something people will fault…

Perhaps that when the sspx are involved, there are things to find fault with. Just a brief look at the FAQ’s on their own website is enough to make many Catholics raise an eyebrow.

I think it’s about time that they update their FAQ website. JPII is no longer Pope, for one thing.

True, but there are still plenty of curious ideas floating around there unrelated to JPII.
The JPII stuff was obviously put there before the excommunications were lifted. When you find an updated site, let us know of any “curious” ideas you find to be new. It’s too easy too bash them with old news. They have a lot more to lose now so they have to be on better behavior.

So, it was ok to have out-of-left-field opinions on the Church and her positions when John Paul II was pope, but now that he isn’t we shouldn’t judge them based on their own “old news?” It’s their official site; the burden is on them to post “new” news. Leopards have to want to change their spots before it can happen…

LOL. Yeah, some leopards never change their spots, do they Tim…?

What is one thing, on any SSPX website, that goes against Catholic doctrine?

How did they find the time to update question # 10? True, it isn’t up to date to “RIGHT NOW” but it has been updated since JPII has passed & after BXVI issued his motu proprio, Summorum Pontificum (7-7-07).🤷
