New SSPX Rosary Crusade

**While reading the pamphlet by the sspx for the Rosary Crusade I notice the same fuzzy logic and sense of supposed authority that got the sspx in trouble 20 years ago. They note that Sr. Lucia gave contradictory statements in the 80’s that the consecration had been done, then say that it wasn’t up to Sr. Lucia to determine if it was done or not. ** Yet, they criticize Pope John Paul’s attempts at the consecration, making themselves the authority as to whether or not it had been done. ** And the “Errors of Russia” that they list in the pamphlet reeks of their anti-feminism mentality, not the errors of communist suppression of freedom of worship and the suppression of the Church as most have considered them to be. **You must remember that in Portugal at the time of the apparitions, the communist were trying to make Lisbon the Leningrad of western Europe. A communist victory in Portugal would have seen a suppression of the Church and the end of Mass in what was once a very Catholic country. Not only did this not happen but Portugal was spared from the devastating effects of World War II.

was not produced by the SSPX and was in fact written by a non-sspx laymen quoting a Catholic apologist who is in full communion with the Church (John Salza) and the ‘errors of Russia’ bit comes from a Priest of the FSSP who is also in full communion with the Church. Everything you read comes from Catholics in full canonical communion with the Church with the exception of the obvious quote from Bishop Fellay on the cover.

Thanks for the clarification. The quote from Bishop Fellay makes it look like an sspx-related event, even more so since there isn’t anything else giving credit to who authored it. However, I still think that the “errors of Russia” bit sounds just like the anit-feminist mentality that the sspx is known for. The fact that a priest of the fssp holds these views is not surprising, since the fssp was formed by priest who left the sspx, so it would not be unimaginable to think that the same views can be found to be present in the two groups.

I never said that anything on their site goes against Catholic doctrine. There are, however, some very disturbing things there, especially their views of women and non-catholics. I spent several days reading the various things written there and, if this truly is their mentality, left with a very unfavorable view of the society. What strikes me the most, since they claim to be such true, good catholics, is the strange and fuzzy logic that they employ in justifying the things they do and the beliefs they hold. If that is ok with you or anyone else, then that is just fine with me, but I personally am not beholden to such views and do not choose to associate with such.

I know the SSPX inside out, and I know that they are sound, through and through. They stayed true to Catholicism when it seemed the entire Catholic Church had turned on Herself. Only now, do we see the ship slowly turning around, thanks be to the SSPX and the God-sent Benedict. Here’s to hoping that the ship will right Herself, and get back on track quickly, before the modernists get another firm grip.

Pal, I told you already; everything that I read about their views came from their website. There are pages and pages of things to read there. I have read it once and do not wish to read it again. As I said before, arguing about the sspx or with you does not mean enough to me to waste my time on. Get it?
