Bishop-elect Alfred Andrew Schlert was named Bishop of Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA.

The diocese had been vacant since Bishop John Oliver Barres was named Bishop of Rockville Centre, New York in December 2016.

Bishop-elect Schlert has been serving as a priest in the Allentown diocese.
 
Praying to the Holy Spirit to give the new Bishop guidance & direction in his new assignment.
