Hi Norseman–what do you serve with that?Maybe this is just a Polish thing, but I remember herring being served when I was growing up.

To tell you the truth, I don’t remember - just sticking toothpicks in the herring jar and eating them. And I think it was “Noon Hour” herring.Hi Norseman–what do you serve with that?
I have had herring, alone, and I don’t know…it’s kind of plain…it needs something…like scallions, crackers and cream cheese. To tell you the truth, I don’t remember - just sticking toothpicks in the herring jar and eating them. And I think it was “Noon Hour” herring.
Everything is better with cream cheese![]()
You could very well be a cooking genius…! I love this idea…I will try this…sour cream (lite) on the side, with some cheddar cheese, etc…to put on top-I love it! My husband has disappeared…not sure to where…I think he is buying fertilizer…he said something about that earlier…and I’m waiting for him to return so we can get our shopping underway already! If dh doesn’t want the baked potato bar cause it may be too filling, try this…get those frozen fries shaped like waffles - waffle fries - bake them off and top them with seasoned taco meat, cheese, salsa, sour cream, etc. You could use refried beans too. This way instead of committing to a big baked potato you can just pop these in your mouth. Slice up some scallions to go on top too.
Your husband sounds like mine. When things get busy, he suddenly remembers another chore that must be done immediately that has nothing whatsoever to do with the upcoming event! You could very well be a cooking genius…! I gave up the idea of dieting until Jan 2 after I gain 10lbs eating all that good food.Yummy! You guys aren’t helping my new weight loss goals one bit.![]()
Agreed. IMO there’s no point trying to diet between Christmas and New Year. The best I can do is portion control.I gave up the idea of dieting until Jan 2 after I gain 10lbs eating all that good food. The problem is my dad is the BEST cook and we always have the most delicious dinners, but I cannot survive (without being a grump) all day without breakfast and lunch so I have to skip my dad’s delicious dinners.
