I think you’re absolutely right. It’s painful to admit, but I have no trust in our hierarchy as a whole. I’m sure there are individual clergy who are trying to make a positive impact, but the corruption is too widespread for them to have an impact on their own.Our Lord Jesus is giving these men every possible chance to do this cleaning themselves.
But alas. It appears they are not going to follow their own items any time soon (at least according to other bishops. I’ve cited them numerous times here on CAF).
So if they don’t clean house, our Lord will use some other avenue to clean up for them. Perhaps the secular authorities.
Unfortunately as seen throughout history . . . when that type of “clean-up” occurs it is much more painful.
When I look at this papacy and the men who are in charge, such as the those of our own USCCB, all I see are the reflections of the Sadducees and Pharisees of the New Testament.
