hmm… the article is written by a mother who blames online pornography for changes in the personality of her 11 year old son. However, the changes seem rather extreme and she doesn’t explore the possibility of other factors, such as mental illness or simply rebellion against his mother’s rules (such as banning video games she considers to be violent.) Its far easier to blame pornography, and her son’s wicked friend from school, than to find a cause within her son or even in her own behavior…
Online pornography is a problem and access to minors is definitely an issue to be addressed. But I don’t think the Daily Mail article provides an accurate picture of the effects of pornography. As mdgspencer mentioned, it is written in a sensationalistic manner. It is also written by a person with an interest in finding a scapegoat for the troubling changes in her son’s personality…
