Not to derail this thread but would you think that Newt be a better nominee than say Sarah Palin?I doubt Newt will ever win the nomination but I will ask this question:
Let’s say the only choices we had to vote for the next President is:
Obama a pro-Abortion non-Catholic
Or
Newt a Pro-Life Catholic?
I’ll vote for Newt.
I like her, she must be good because the left loathe her.Not to derail this thread but would you think that Newt be a better nominee than say Sarah Palin?
I agree too and on a personal level I would feel better with a real Catholic in office than even Palin, but couldn’t his age be a factor the way they made it a factor with McCain?I like her, she must be good because the left loathe her.
When it comes to experience she has more than BHO but Newt has more than her.
Obama is not ‘pro-abortion’.I doubt Newt will ever win the nomination but I will ask this question:

JJ, Obama supports abortion whenever and wherever it is CHOSEN. That makes him “pro-abortion” in my book. It’s great to know that Obama does not support abortion when it is not chosen. Except maybe in China, I reckon!Obama is not ‘pro-abortion’.
And I would take Obama over Newt any day of the week.
But what else would you call him? And why shouldn’t pro-life people fear him? His first act as President was to revoke the Mexico City policy. He’s eliminated the Sanctity of Human life day. He voted against the BIPA equivalent. He doesn’t want his children “punished” with a child.Obama is not ‘pro-abortion’…
It appears you put other issues besides the lives of unborn children before others. You’d rather have Obama because he’s aligned politically, economically, and socially with you. You’ve claimed in the past to be pro-life, but apparently pro-life comes in second to these other issues. And I would take Obama over Newt any day of the week.
I’m pro giving people the choice to own guns- guess that makes me pro-gun.Obama is not ‘pro-abortion’.
And I would take Obama over Newt any day of the week.
That’s not the story.I think if you do the research, you will discover that Obama voted for partial birth abortion while in the state senate.
A sin.…
I’m pro giving people the choice to get abortions- what would you call that?
he voted against the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act.That’s not the story.
He voted AGAINST the requirement that additional doctor(s) be in the delivery room in case the fetus was not dead after being removed.
This got twisted (of course, of course) into “voting for partial birth abortions.”

From the right wing nutjobs at factcheck. The statement was still on Obama’s Web site as of this writing, Aug. 25, long after Obama had accused his detractors of “lying.” But Obama’s claim is wrong. In fact, by the time the HHS Committee voted on the bill, it did contain language identical to the federal act. …
Anything but pro-abortion so Catholic votes can be cast in “good” conscience.I’m pro giving people the choice to get abortions- what would you call that?
I’m an Illinois resident, so I know first-hand that you’re the one “spinning”. President Obama has never voted for ANY restriction of abortion.
Illinois voters overwhelmingly voted for this Marxist "nutjob" both for senator AND president, so I have little confidence in any interpretation of events coming from that once-great state. Rob
You know,it's your posterity as well as mine who will be begging for government crumbs for years to come, thanks to your votes for power-hungry statists such as Obama. We're all going down together, except for the handful of ruling class sycophants at the top.
Hey, I didn’t vote for him, and I’m about as far from a Keynesian as you can get. Unfortunately, my local apprachik found out about my non-Support of our Dear Leader, which meant I lost my ration of beet vodka for the month.Illinois voters overwhelmingly voted for this Marxist “nutjob” both for senator AND president, so I have little confidence in any interpretation of events coming from that once-great state.Rob

Correction: I should use the official full title for Illinois: The Glorious People’s Republik of Illinois.

That is truly horrible, Scipio. As we say here in our glorious Penn's Woods(hed) Gulag, "Life is for those who know not of the joys of beet vodka." Of course, such cringe-worthy examples of man's inhumanity to man never occur here, but if they ever did, I'm confident that swilling would resume as soon as Comrade Rendell got word of it! :mad:Твоё здоровье, товарищ!!that is truly horrible, scipio.
