My prayers have been answered!! Praise God! Spain still has the potential to take Europe out of it’s Relativism and Atheism! Pope Benedict has chosen Madrid as the next location for World Youth Day!

I was really surprised, since Spain hosted WYD in 1989, but pleased! 🙂
 
Madrid in August? :eek: It is common for it to hit the 90 and even 100 at that time of year. The only good thing is that Spain tends to shut down there in August (I have a co-worker that works out of the Madrid office)
 
Where are you from? It’s usally about a hundred plus in Denver that time of year (and dry like Madrid) so I’m ready 👍
 
I have already started thinking about organizing a pilgrimage in 2011. We have a great bunch of young people at our parish. It would be nice to have a representation from our parish like we did in 93.

I was in Denver in 1993 for Wrold Youth Day with John-Paul the Great - Madrid sounds lovely!
 
It took some digging, but I finally found that it’s going to be held in the third week of August. That’s sometime between Aug. 14 and Aug. 20 in 2011 (for those who want to ask their boss for the time off now, instead of waiting until the last minute.) 🤷

The dates have been set for Aug. 15-21, 2011.
