Let me see, I am using NFP to avoid pregnancy. I have been using it for 7 years. I am a Sunday School teacher, have been a Preschool teacher and absolutely love children. If I could have a dozen, I would. So instead of simply abstaining during my fertile time, you feel that I should abstain until when? I can afford another child. We have enough money to have another child. I would love to have another child. Maybe you should talk to my GYN and explain to her, an NFP only doctor, why I should have another child. I am sure you know more about my condition than she does. PM me and I can give you her number. Of course you might want to read up on a bicornuate uterus, one ovary and one tube. But I am sure you can figure it all out.
So now not only should I abstain forever, EVERYONE should abstain unless you are fertile?:bigyikes: So that means that once a woman goes through menopause, she should no longer have relations with her husband. Also, a pregnant woman should not have relations. Right.

:banghead:
People like this drive me crazy.
Keep having sexual intercourse to have children only during your fertile periods until menopause then stop. It is contraceptive to have sex outside of fertility because you are spilling the seed which is the same as a man masturbating except he is spilling his seed inside the woman. The product of love during sexual intercourse as God has made it is children. Sexual intercourse should always lead to life. “be fruitful and multiply” . And then when not having sex and abstaining, show love in other physical non sexual ways.

and you have then had multiple sexual partners while you are married to the only man you are supposed to love.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that PaulBennet doesn’t believe that NFP can ever be used licitly to avoid pregnancy. Thankfully, the Catholic Church does not share this opinion.

People may be using NFP but at the same time are having sex outside of fertility to avoid getting pregnant as if there is something wrong with pregnancy. People like that also don’t like children and tend to treat the people around them, including small children with utter disrepute. They walk all over everyone…The bonding of husband and wife comes from the times when you should only be having sexual intercourse within fertility cycles. Pleasure is just a side affect of the act. But then pleasure shouldn’t be the be all and end all.
Sex outside of marriage is morally wrong. Sex outside of fertility? This guy is a bit “off”, obviously he isn’t here for the discussion, doesn’t believe in what even the Church teaches about sexuality and married love. DO NOT ENGAGE.

I am going out on a limb and saying that Paul believes in the Quiverfull movement.

He also seems to think that women are dogs. Literally dogs. Dogs can be pregnant from multiple partners at the same time.

On the other hand, women generally release only one egg per cycle. MARRIED women, only have relations with their husband. And will not end up having sex with multiple men.

Couldn’t agree with you more - or perhaps his view might change if he happened to be the one having to be pregnant all the time with his beliefs. I don’t remember the Bible saying anything about “sex only when fertile…”

Actually, that is what the Bible says. Sexual relations were forbidden during the menses and for 7 days after the the last sign of blood. She remains unclean until she is purified by a ritual bath and offering in the Temple. Understanding the female cycle, this means that couples could not have relations until around the time an average cycle ovulation.

That rule was relaxed (along with the other Jewish purification laws such as the dietary laws) in the book of Acts.

“I am going to go out on a limb” and say people are making false assumptions and judging me and what I am saying subjectively.

If you think it is “ofey” to have multiple sexual partners, then you are as bad as the Muslims.

Following those rules, I wouldn’t be fertile. I would only be having relations past my fertile time or in phase 3.

Does the Jewish religion also forbid relations after a certain date? Or is it just not during Phase 1?

Just menses and the days after. Sure, for some women that would be infertile time, but, for the “textbook average”, it would mean first day back is time to make a baby!

Posting to confirm everything you said.

In spite of my signature ticker, I did vote “I practice and it DOES work”.

When we practice it properly, it works. When we get lazy, I get pregnant. It’s not the method that’s was the problem. It was our inability to check and chart symptoms every day…and not just the days we feel like having relations.
Even if you get pregnant when you, “get lazy”, why do you not just accept that life God created rather than say “woops”? I am not condoning getting lazy.

How about you either go back and explain how a married couple having relations outside of fertility is somehow the same as having relations with more than one man? That or accept the label that Jill gave you.
