I’m from NH. Just a general statement-the majority of Catholics/people in general think he has lost all moral authority and don’t listen to a word he says. In fact, many people think that he just messes things up when he talks about political issues.

OK, why has this bishop lost his moral authority ? Minor age children seekind an abortion is more than a political issue , isn’t it ? Isn’t this also a family issue ? Isn’t it also a social issue ? Why isn’t this issue separate from the man ( i.e., the bishop ) ?

Why is your entire post about the bishop , with no mention of the issue of parental notification ?

The veto has been overridden and the bill will now become law, in about six months.

Republican lawmakers flexed their conservative might Wednesday, overrode Democratic Gov. John Lynch’s objections and reinstated a requirement for pregnant girls seeking abortions to tell their parents or a judge first.

Lynch had vetoed the bill as unclear and too narrow. The House voted 266-102 to override followed by a 17-7 vote in the Senate. The bill becomes law Jan. 1.
