For those who attend an ad orientem NO Mass:
When the priest begins the Mass with the sign of the cross and follows with the Confiteor, does he do this from his chair or from the altar?
The reason I ask is the GIRM specifically states that the sign of the cross be done from the chair (50). It does not specify where the Confiteor (or whatever Act of Penitence) should be done.
It would make the most sense to me that after reverencing the altar, the priest would just stay their through the Collect and go to the chair afterwards to sit down.
