No Catholic Bibles in Wal-Mart?

I did not have any hassles with the e-Sword software. I just suggested it, since I haven’t seen anything like biblegateway either. It was the only thing I was able to find so far.

I meant was that the hassle is that I have to d/l and install software. The program itself isn’t bad but those very computer illiterate have all the problems in the world when they can’t figure out how to d/l or install anything. It would be nice to see something like biblegateway for Catholics. The Latin Vulgate isn’t the best to read since it isn’t approved by the Church (the one on biblegateway’s site). It is such a shame that you can’t get Catholic Bibles at more stores like Wal-Mart and such. Catholics deserve to read the Catholic Bible
 
Wal-Mart tends to carry products that it can get dirt-cheap and sell in mass quantities. Are there any Catholic publishers who could supply Bibles at really cheap wholesale prices to mass merchandisers like Wal-Mart? If Wal-Mart can get these Catholic Bibles at a really low price, I am sure they would carry them. Otherwise, they will not. It is like anything else at Wal-Mart. You will find plenty of jeans there, but not the designer brands.

about only Catholic publisher that I know that would supply mass quantity of Bibles would be the Catholic Book Publishing Company. On the downside the publish New American Bibles and nothing much else. I would rather see the Douay-Rheims more than anything but I doubt there is anyone that does mass quantities of this prestigious Bible.

It is the word for word translation of the Clementine Vulgate. It is the most accurate Englsh Catholic Bible. These newer age Bibles are ok but how can the manuscripts that were used to translate them be proven to be as old as they say they are when they haven’t surfaced until less than 200 years. Just because it looks old doesn’t mean it is old

BibleGateway.com does have the Douay-Rheims translation. When their home page comes up, there is a menu on the left side. Go to this menu and click on “Preferences.” You will get another menu that specifies what language you want, whether to display the words of Christ in red, and several other choices among which are to include or to exclude bibles with the Deuterocanonical books. If you choose “include” you will have the Douay-Rheims. I suspect they would carry the NAB and RSV-CE as well but they must have permission from the publisher. They don’t have the RSV non-Catholic edition for this reason as well.

Was this a fluke think or is there something to it? I figured Wal-Mart would have atleast 1 Catholic version available.

Remember that Wal-M is a Chinese mass production outlet store, I don’t believe they mass produce Catholic Bibles in China.
