http://www.catholictv.org/ has televised Masses.
And how many sympathizers? Here’s a story in US News, there are only 3,000 KKK members and associates in the entire country.
I can remember my Dad saying similar things. They’d give him a wide berth like you could catch Catholicism or like he was going to spontaneously combust. I’m sure they used to pray for my salvation or just see me as the offspring of the anti-Christ, and that’s not a flip answer. I can imagine what they thought of us, even though most said nothing to me. My mom was pretty popular with the students so I’m sure that helped me out somewhat.I was in North Carolina as a medical underwriter and I was truly introduced like this:
Mary IS Catholic BUT we are not here to discuss this we are discussing insurance so any comments are off limits about Catholicism. That said it all to me. FIrst question I was asked when I met the manager of this event is “What religion are you.” When I said “Catholic” he looked absolutely horrified that a Catholic was in his presence and speaking to his 25 insurance agents. He said, No problem, I’ll make sure there are no problems at the meeting for you because you are Catholic.
Better yet - does anyone really think they’re all going to stand up and be counted? Seems a bit silly to think so.Augustinian:![]()

As has been said many times, God and the Church don’t ask the impossible. No dispensation needed., and certainly not from a bishop.I’m pretty sure if you can’t make Sunday obligations you can dispensations from the bishop
It’s better to attend a Mass as often as you can. And for Easter, it’s definitely worth the 75 minute drive to and from the nearest Catholic Church. I would definitely drive an hour and 15 minutes each way to attend an Easter Mass.I just want some kind of church service for my son who is 8 so he doesn’t lose all that he gained from religious education it’s not like they have have religious education online( at least not that I can tell) I don’t want to go because of an obligation I go to mass because I enjoy learning about Christ. I also don’t want to miss Easter services etc. but from what you all are saying it’s better for us to sit at home and have no church type services at all then go to a Protestant Church is that correct?
I realize you probably answered before reading the rest of the responses, but this just made me chuckle. Define “nearby.”…if it would be possible for a priest to celebrate a Mass at your home or a home of one of your nearby Catholic neighbors at least once a month.
Indeed. And knowing where she is, I promise that no one would want to have car trouble on any of those back roads. Just explaining to a tow truck where you are is a nightmare. She has not got a bloody car. Can no one read here?
