There is also this Novena to End Abortion that is to be started September first and be prayed right up till the Election is decided (Even if it goes past November 7th)

The Prayer is as follows:
O God, we acknowledge you today as Lord,
Not only of individuals, but of nations and governments.
We thank you for the privilege
Of being able to organize ourselves politically
And of knowing that political loyalty
Does not have to mean disloyalty to you.
We thank you for your law,
Which our Founding Fathers acknowledged
And recognized as higher than any human law.
We thank you for the opportunity that this election year puts before us,
To exercise our solemn duty not only to vote,
But to influence countless others to vote,
And to vote correctly.
Lord, we pray that your people may be awakened.
Let them realize that while politics is not their salvation,
Their response to you requires that they be politically active.
Awaken your people to know that they are not called to be a sect fleeing the world
But rather a community of faith renewing the world.
Awaken them that the same hands lifted up to you in prayer
Are the hands that pull the lever in the voting booth;
That the same eyes that read your Word
Are the eyes that read the names on the ballot,
And that they do not cease to be Christians
When they enter the voting booth.
Awaken your people to a commitment to justice
To the sanctity of marriage and the family,
To the dignity of each individual human life,
And to the truth that human rights begin when human lives begin,
And not one moment later.
Lord, we rejoice today
That we are citizens of your kingdom.
May that make us all the more committed
To being faithful citizens on earth.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Also on September 14 the Feast of the Exhaltation of the Holy Cross I am starting a 54 Day Rosary Novena and on October 29th a Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

All for whoever gets elected to be (or have a change of heart and become) Pro-Life. Yes image Candidate B winning and decided to switch to a Pro-Life platform.

Correct, Bob. Cyberwolf001 would be committing a grave evil in voting for a candidate that supports abortion. If his candidate wins and he is pleased about it, how honest will his contrition be in the confessional?
In coming back and looking at this post, I realize that it could be interpreted as an attack on cyberwolf or a questioning of his faith or honesty. For this, I sincerely apologize. I worded it very poorly. I certainly did not want to imply that cyberwolf’s would make a bad confession.

(And no, no one PM’ed me or warned me. I just glanced at what I wrote and realized I had stated it very poorly.)

I should have worded in a much more general manner and not use cyberwolf as an example. Again, my sincere apologies to cyberwolf and anyone else who may have misunderstood what I wrote.

Hi,

Pro-Life America?

America-On-Line has been conducting an On-Line Straw-Poll of those logging on to their internet service.

Currently the Presidential Candidate with a good Pro-Life record according to NRLC.org is leading by a wide margin over the 100% Pro-Abortion Presidential Candidate* in every State.

News.AOL.com/Political-Machine/2008/08/05/AOL-Straw-Poll

Simply click on the Presidential Candidate you are voting for, then a map of the USA will be displayed showing results.

Place the mouse cursor over each Individual State to show more detailed results.
  • The 100% Pro-Abortion Presidential Candidate even voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act several times
NRLC.org

This Act allows for Doctors of botched Late-Term abortions to place fully developed living babies in cold boxes to die cruel deaths of Thermal Exposure.

God Bless

Note: AOL just reported a glitch, sometimes the bottom tallies were switching. Just scan over the States with the mouse cursor to see the tallies.

It turns out that someone running for president may not have been born in this counrty, and his birth certificate was forged.

‘That Dude Sued in Philadelphia Federal Court on Grounds he is Constitutionally Ineligible for the Presidency’
“RENEWING THE AMERICAN DREAM”

Talk about being “Above my Pay Grade!” Why has it taken so long for someone to do something about this?

TexasDarlin has a post up that she has received word that that ALL MEDIA were asked to report to the U.S. District Courthouse in Philadelphia this afternoon - Case #08-CV-4083. (I’m willing to bet that no one from the MSM showed up).

The suit has been filed at:

US District Court, Eastern District of PA
601 Market Street
Philadelphia, PA 19106-1797
Ph: 215-597-7704

The motion will be for an emergency temporary restraining order prohibiting That Dude from running for president, and enjoining the Party He’s afiliated with from nominating That Dude as their presidential candidate.

According to by Jeff Schreiber at America’s Right. com:

A prominent Philadelphia attorney and The Person Who Wasn’t picked supporter filed suit this afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against That Dude and His Party. The action seeks an injunction preventing the senator from continuing his candidacy and a court order enjoining the Political Party from nominating him next week, all on grounds that That Dude is constitutionally ineligible to run for and hold the office of President of the United States.

Phillip Berg, the filing attorney, is a former gubernatorial and senatorial candidate, former chair of the Political Party in Montgomery ¶ County, former member of the Democratic State Committee, and former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania. According to Berg, he filed the suit–just days before the political party is to hold its nominating convention in Denver–for the health of the Political Party.

“I filed this action at this time,” Berg stated, “to avoid the obvious problems that will occur when the Other Political Party raises these issues after That Dude is nominated.”.

Berg cited a number of unanswered questions regarding That Dude’s background, and in today’s lawsuit maintained that Dude is not a naturalized U.S. citizen or that, if he ever was, he lost his citizenship when he was adopted in Indonesia. Berg also cites what he calls “dual loyalties” due to his citizenship and ties with Kenya and Indonesia.

Even if That Dude can prove his U.S. citizenship, Berg stated, citing the dude’s use of a birth certificate from the state of Hawaii verified as a forgery by three independent document forensic experts, the issue of “multi-citizenship with responsibilities owed to and allegiance to other countries” remains on the table.

In the lawsuit, Berg states that dude was born in Kenya, and not in Hawaii as the dude maintains. Before giving birth, according to the lawsuit, The Dude’s mother traveled to Kenya with his father but was prevented from flying back to Hawaii because of the late stage of her pregnancy, “apparently a normal restriction to avoid births during a flight.” As The Dude’s own paternal grandmother, half-brother and half-sister have also claimed, Berg maintains that Stanley Ann Dunham–the dude’s mother–gave birth to little Dude in Kenya and subsequently flew to Hawaii to register the birth.

“If” this isn’t all some kind of hoax or a simple case of that dude’s campaign not having provided the correct information or certificate, or there’s some other legitimate explanation, all hell is about to break out in the dude’s campaign and The dude’s formal rival will have pulled off a heck of a coup!

Update; Factcheck. org (owned by The Annenberg Foundation) has a new birth certificate story. As Texasdarlin suggests in her post, this is interesting timing since That Dude has just returned from Hawaii.
Indeed, what a coincidence that it’s today!

(I edited out the dude’s name 😃 )

Hi Chris LaRock,

Be careful of campaign rhetoric.

The Republicans play to the Christian right and the Democrats play to the feminist.

Neither are going to do anything to over turn Roe V Wade, its all a rues.

If candidate A says he’s pro-life, but has made the statement, that Roe V Wade should not be overturned, and he chooses a pro-choice running mate, is he still pro-life?

Also, what if the self-declared pro-life candidate, has made a promise to the American people, that if elected, he will kill certain human beings? Can we really take him serious as being pro-life?

Jim

Agreed. Campaign rhetoric, as your post clearly displays, can be deceiving. It is better to look at the voting records of the candidates.

I like to use votesmart.org/election_president.php

It is non-partisan, and there is a wealth of information on the candidates. You can look up voting records on each candidate and see how they voted on abortion issues. You can also see NARAL ratings and Right-to-Life ratings for the candidates.

It is much better to go on facts rather than rhetoric.

Hitler was pro-life?

Of course I’m being facetious, but this kind of specious argument makes me nuts.

Let’s use examples that are plausible…

As for the Church having to tell us which way we need to vote, it’s really quite elementary. Compare the voting records of all candidates against the voting guide. Anyone with an IQ above warm toast should be able to figure it out.

Third party candidates. I voted that way in my younger, more checkered (read radical) days. I feel personally responsible for Jimmy Carter.:o

As I mature, I see there is is only one way to hold the evil of abortion at bay, and that’s through the courts, not just the USSC, but those district and appellate benches as well. There is only one major candidate who has voted pro-life promised to appoint constructionist judges–he’s the guy who gets my vote.
So according to the logic here, back in the 1930’s when Hitler was running for office, if he opposed abortion, but his opponent, although pro-live in his personal decisions, took the position that the government needs to stay out of the decision, Catholics would be forced under the threat of mortal sin, to vote for Hitler?

Excuse me, but I think I’ll take the chance on the better overall candidate, over the one who is crazy enough to create a nuclear holocaust.

Jim

**Reminder: Mention political parties only in neutral terms. Do not mention candidates or link to articles which are primarily about them. Do not allude to candidates. Thread has been edited.

This is the last warning. Infractions will be issued for future offenses.

Oh my goodness, which candidate has promised to kill people? I Googled the phrase several different ways, and haven’t found it attributed to anyone.

Please advise us all immediately of who said it and where it’s documented. We need to know!

What you’re seeing is a usual convoluted thinking of Catholics wanting to rationalize voting for pro-abortion candidates. The logic is that those who say they want to limit abortion really want to increase abortions and those you say they want abortions to reamin legal and be paid by the for by the taxpayers really want to eliminate abortions.

I think he may be referring to this guy:

shotgunplayers.org/ubu.htm
Undecided for 2008? Looking for leadership instead of pandering? By my green candle Vote for Ubu in summer of 2008! When Alfred Jarry’s Ubu Roi debuted in 1896 there was a riot that closed the theatre. Why? The title chracter. “He is everything that is foul in the world…devoid of any redeeming characterstic. He is not diluted with Iago’s cunning or Macbeth’s guilt and somehow he is not unlike us.”
Okay, full disclosure: a very close relative is the lead actor in this play and was used for the poster art. While he is a “godless liberal,” I love him dearly and his acting is great.

One candidate advocates for the mass murder of children via abortion. Another candidate advocates against the murder of children.

It is a grave evil to vote for a candidate that supports the murder of children via abortion. If a Catholic does so and is pleased that the pro-abortion candidate won, it would be very difficult for them to make an honest confession because they would have to regret voting for that candidate and be unhappy they were elected. Their confession may be invalid.

You realize I was being facetious, right? Mine was a follow up to a response I had made to the same poster…sorry if you thought I was serious.😊

Personally, I don’t trust any politician to end abortion. There’s too much money involved in it and that’s the bottom line for all of them.
