I agree with you totally. There must be a line, i was just throwing the previous idea out there as a possible explanation for some of these things.That’s a good point, and I was wondering if that was the root of the issue. However, as asia53 stated, we still have the GIRM that requires the crucifix. True, parishes can integrate cultural customs (different languages, music style, etc.) so long as they don’t add to or take away from the GIRM and Mass rubrics.
I can understand “wanting to relate” to the Protestant majority population, but a some point we have to draw the line and say “we’re Catholic.” I don’t want our Truth being diluted just so someone’s feelings don’t get hurt. I just can’t believe such a basic issue in this diocese is being ignored…![]()
