Actually, that is possibly the most misunderstood and misused statement in all of Scripture. For one thing, the Greek language has many different words which our Bibles render as ‘judge.’No, there isn’t. Unless you’re a Christian of course, then you are not supposed to judge anybody (Mt 7:1; Lk 6:37).
One is ‘anakrino,’ which means to discern. We are supposed to anakrino between good and evil. (e.g., 1 Cor. 2:15)
Another is ‘diakrino,’ which means to actually submit a decision. We are supposed to diakrino on things right and wrong. (e.g., 1 Cor. 6:5)
Another is ‘krisis.’ This word means to judge whether a person is going to Heaven or Hell. This is the kind of judgement we must never ever do.
In fact, we are commanded to judge, but with righteous judgement. (John 7:24)
