Help! I am pregnant with baby # 3. My first was born when I was freshly married and young. So his godparents were my sister in law and my husbands best friend. They are both confirmed Catholics, but they were young at the time too. They have each gone away from the Church and neither one is in a valid marriage.
For my second, we chose my other sister in law and my brother. Again, both were confirmed Catholics and they definitely make better lifestyle choices than the first pair. However, my brother recently married a Protestant (in a non-sacramental marriage) and attends Protestant Churches so he is out.
We REALLY want good Godparents for our kids. I really want to find a couple/family who believes what we believe and is faithful to the Church, but we don’t have anyone! I am friends with a lot of women at church, but it is more on an acquaintance and social media level than a a personal level where I would feel comfortable asking them to be Godparents for my child.
What do you do when you have no one to be a sponsor. I have 8 months left to figure this out!! Help!
