what are we teaching our youth in school today?

progressivism in action,

the same people that don’t want you to defend yourself when someone is breaking into your home in the middle of the night.
“I asked: ‘In the time it would have taken him to go get a teacher, could that kid’s throat have been slit?’ She said yes, but that’s beside the point. That we ‘don’t condone heroics in this school.’ ”

The school has rules.

Tell your kid to break the rules.

The Catholic Church has rules whether they be Theological or Local.

The child learns it is okay to break rules. He has his parent’s support.

Don’t be surprised if he breaks Church rules.

“Your child could have had his own throat slit trying to be a hero” would have been my next response then followed up with “We don’t condone heroics in this school”

Does the CCC address this?

I have always taught my kids to “do the right thing.” If this were my kid, I would have rewarded him for his actions.

He made the right decision. The possibility of a knife fight involving others was possible. Getting involved is not always appropriate but this was close quarters and I wouldn’t be comfortable having this occur near me.

The world has sheep and wolves. Unless you have some sheep dogs to keep the wolves at bay, all you will have is dead sheep.

Sounds like the school may have a "zero tolerance " policy. Unfortunately those often means the faculty are prohibited on applying intellect to the evaluation of a situation.

Didn’t Someone we all know and love once ask “Is it permissible to save lives on the Sabbath?”

Ox in the ditch on a Sabbath.

i didn’t notice because it popped up on my Reddit feed

and yet it is still an example of current progressive thought

I’m not sure if 7 years ago is still “current”. Have there been any recent similar stories? Perhaps the schools now handle things differently.

I think it has gotten worse, not only don’t they want heroes, I don’t think they want any individualistic traits. you can’t even post an out of school picture of yourself in a hunting photo without getting in trouble.
