I’m broke too, though for different reasons. So there are other things I can do. Because I have extra bits of time here and there, I might attend daily Mass or do other things. I sponsored somebody in RCIA and he was welcomed into the Church recently.
I think your “no money” is more of a choice rather than a circumstance. A hobby just isn’t a very sound reason not to give to the church. You have a beautiful accordion and you play so well. I think you are a tad immature yet, but I have high hopes for you. Think of THE WIDOW’S MITE. She gave all that she had. That is a true sacrifice. Consider if it doesn’t hurt just a little bit you are missing out on a certain obtainable penance for the Lord who’s blood He shed for you.The reason I don’t apply for jobs is because I want to focus all my time on college so I get good grades. I don’t want to put my small about of free time into a job, but rather into my hobbies.

sounds like you have good plans for your future. I didn’t know they called playing musical instruments in the street busking, but you should call someone in your city and find out if you need a permit. there are many people that do that in my town because we live in the mountains and many tourists come here on the weekends. I major in computer information systems. However, at the moment I have some remedial courses (I have a nasty memory), and some of them give boatloads of homework. I’m in my first semester and I plan on only getting an Associates Degree. Afterwards I will probably either look for a job in the field, or join the Air Force as a computer worker.
I could probably find a way to make money playing the accordion. Busking is a good way. Another way I thought of is collecting scrap metal and taking it to a scrapyard for cash. I have seen videos of people legally taking metal people put out as garbage and making thousands of dollars!

You could also save up until you have a dollar and give a dollar bill on a periodic basis. You are not required to put anything into the collection. You alone know the circumstances that you are in. If you have $0.00 income then you have no money to give. The little money that you receive in gifts is to help with your support. If you want to try to put at least 10 cents into the collection, that is up to you. Whether or not that amount is a true gift, a sign of false humility, or an insult is known to God. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. My advice to you is to wait until you start to earn money, then you can decide on an amount to put in the collection. In the mean time, you can pray for your parish or campus chapel (whatever the case may be). Perhaps your parish will have an event where you may volunteer your talent, playing your accordion, or whatever musical talent or other talents you have.I just received donation envelopes. While not advocating you don’t give, there is no earthly mandate to give money to register or attend mass. And if you are truly broke you can probably muster 25cents?
