I meant “not mocking” -I edited that already.
We have a right to free will, I don’t think much if a person is advocating for a philosophy that promotes violence and hate but I’m certainly not some sort of PC police. Sadly, they advocate for violence being conducted against innocents and accuse others of bigoted terms themselves in their unbalanced analysis.
Rev 12: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

I don’t know which bigoted ideology to support or oppose. The one that says to kill me (Koran) or the one that says not to let Muslims patronize the business (the discriminating lady)…

I guess we have to support those who don’t mind supporting our death. That’s the Catholic choice, because we are to follow the Lamb. And our children are to follow us to the swords edge.

Xenophobia at a gun shop?? At a shooting range??

Xenophobia- bing definition:
intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries.
Okay, so this is not proven with this lady. And I’m going to be kind here, I’m not going to say calling a person this name is discriminating but we can make our own judgements.

So it is wrong that one might not sell guns to foreigners? To those who are not American citizens?? :whacky:

This attitude would indeed freely and totally arm the Mexican Cartels on the border with Mexico which as has been reported, gun shops are a lucrative industry on the border.

This reasoning is truly outrageous.

And there are gun laws that are exactly against selling to foreigners and non-American citizens so this seems to be deriding someone for following the law. We would be urging them to break the law.

**Gun Runners For Mexican Cartels Keep US Gun Shops In Business: Report **
Tracing the origin of guns that arm Mexico’s drug trafficking organizations has been an inexact process, but mounting data consistently points to small-scale American firearms dealers whose business has become dependent on criminal demand.
Yes, let’s freely sell guns to foreigners or those purchasing guns for foreign interests, we don’t want to be discriminating against someone. It shouldn’t bother us if innocent people get killed in a foreign land by a gun from a US gunshop! 😦

Now who is discriminating??

NY Daily News has a story about 7000 gun shops on the US side of the border, I don’t know if that means all in the USA, certainly it couldn’t mean just on the border with Mexico but nonetheless, this has been a problem. I have no problem with gun ownership, it needs to be responsible.

At the same time, people should not profit from selling guns that end up causing harm in other countries, in fact, a sort of gun running and yes, we had this Fast and Furious affair which seems to delve into this area.

To deride and judge this woman without the facts is really beyond the pale.

And who talks about discrimination? It likewise can be for convenience’s sake.

I’m depressed. 😦

I feel like this debate is all about ‘winning’ and not about truth or logic. The fact that this is coming from Catholics is what hurts the most.

Reagan’s war on drugs made Nixons look like child play. We are still reaping the rewards and no solution.

It’s a pretty common thing to happen on CAF or most forums dealing in politics, religion, or any, even slightly controversial subject.

CAF can get me a bit depressed at times too. I have had priests tell me that coming on here may be bad for my faith.

Those who discriminate because people follow the dictates of a theocracy to behead, muder and hate as their Koran commands to do 109 times are no different than those who discriminate to not serve a person under the influence a drink.

So according to you, bartenders should serve anyone a drink who asks for it.

According to you, listening to Mozart, the Beatles or Justin Bieber is no different, if I choose to listen to the Beatles over the other two, I am discriminating.
Or, to put it another way, liberalism is a mental disorder.

Whats really odd is what makes one an extreme muslim and one an extreme Catholic in America. I’m just as astonished I’m an extreme Catholic as others who place Church in front of State. But fortunately even the supreme courts justices do that. Its all undefined and grey area as I see it with no clear lines drawn. Course popular opinion and a pen could fix that. Its why the freedom of speech is imperative. But again where is the line with that? I don’t think this lady has any legal implications, in civil court its finance and patience too. So how fair or equal anything is becomes influenced and again public opinion is the recourse.

If these people can do this…

And these, this…

Im just curious why this lady can’t do what she is or has done. Like I said I don’t agree with her but I don’t agree with the above either. Is it me? Am I missing something? You can either be freedom of speech or your kinda freedom when its to your advantage or free speech is just not for you. There’s a long list with extremes like above, and I’m not calling Catholics extreme, but yet the US government quickly did. So what you can’t do is ban people for whatever reason. I wonder if Louis and the KKK would really go for that? I mean equal right are equal rights, but I don’t see where anyone above is talking equal rights.

It is being interpreted as discrimination is because it, in fact, meets the definition of discrimination.
Discrimination is not always a bad thing, although here I think it is in the Catholic moral sense.

But claims of big bad racism or people being afraid of looks is too linear of a discussion.

Also, it’d be nice to see liberal Catholics defend the Faith as passionately as they defend Islam and GLBTQ for a change and defend it to people besides conservative Protestants.
