One reads in the papers that the Pentagon expects the war in Iraq to continue till 2010. Donald Rumsfeld will not guarantee that it will be over by 2009. How many dead and maimed Americans by then? How many sad obituaries? How many full pages in the papers with pictures of all the casualties?

Back at it again…I guess you can’t even rest long enough with your hatefull post towards America long enough to enjoy the birth of our Saviour.

Gee, and I thought Andrew Greeley was only an expert on sex… 😉

Anyway he is distorting the Sec. of Defence’s words. SECDEF expects the troops to be there until 2010, not the war to be continuting.

Remember: our troops are still in Korea and Germany…

False witness is a grave sin and must be confessed before Christmas communion. Moreover, those who commit it are bound to restore the reputation of the one about whom they’ve lied.

Anyway, siding the terrorists in Iraq who are murdering election officials and innocent civilians today, kidnapping innocent civilians for ransom to finance their efforts, and if we pull out will undoubtedly murder millions is not a position a Catholic priest should take.

Today we celebrate one of the three greatest singular mysteries ever recorded - the Birth of Jesus. Fr. Greeley perhaps could have lent himself more to that on this day of days but even when he did mention it, a few days earlier, had to throw in “Iraqi children dying”…the Primate of England of course lectures us today that the money spent on the war should have been given to the poor (neglecting to mention that following his learned treatise is the news that an 85 million dollar cash settlement may be paid by the Irish Church due to abusers in the church), and so Peacemonger I offer this link to all three of you for what it’s worth: have a cuppa
:coffee: and go to: sudftw.com/grasscam.htm and relax.

He is born - He is among us - He Lives.

Merry Christmas peacemonger:) Go and thank God for the blessings you have and pray for everyone who is affected by the war. Gods will whether ordained or permitting is being done. So,go pray about it,and ask the Lord to help and resolve it. But, like I have said before, you take great pleasure in stirring folks up.Go to a happy post and cheer up.God Bless

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

Today we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace, Alleluia!

I think Peacemonger has made his point. If we had really concerned ourselves with the message of the Lord, we wouldn’t be in Iraq today.

In His spirit let us work for peace.

There you have it, folks! Anyone who thinks the war against Hussein was a just war isn’t “really concerned” with the Lord’s message.

Thank you, Peacemonger, for your post. Remember, though, what Elie Wiesel said in “The Fifth Son:” “We have no right to hide from Joy.” Be joyful today. The Creator has become as one of us. History has stopped and this is a moment of eternity, the Incarnation of the Word. History will resume again all too soon. Be at peace.

Has anyone stopped to think that we have young men and women in harm’s way now, and the LAST thing we want to do is send the enemy a message that if they hang on long enough, an anti-war movement will erupt in the United States?

We could ignore a dangerous, murderous, expansionist dictator – after all, that’s basically what we did in the 1930s. And look what happened.

We could ignore a dangerous, murderous, expansionist terrorist organization – after all, that’s basically what we did prior to 9/11. And look what happened.

Vern…as always, I agree totally…Kind of sounds like what Kerry and his cohorts did in Vietnam…We don’t need that type of foolishness now…lets get the job done and back our troops 100%.

At the risk of repeating myself, we should remenmber what Bion said, “Boys throw stones at frogs in sport, but the frogs do not die in sport, but in earnest.”

It’s great fun to rant and rave and protest – but American soldiers die in earnest when we do.

Amen brother, Amen.

Mr. Peacemonger I have a suggestion for you since you are getting nowhere on this forum.

Start your own website, you can buy a good one for aprox. $50 per month. Then you can post all you want. You have appointed yourself as the one person in the world who is to decide what is just and unjust. One has to admire your audacity.
This is from a gray-haired U.S. Veteran, I know what war does, but it is not my perogative to judge what is right or wrong, and I think its not your right either.

Just start your own website, have phun.

Sorry dum…but your post just goes to show how absolutely ignorant you are as to what the message of the Prince of Peace really is.

Oh I see. Being against the war is “siding with the terrorist” Good Lord, what’s wrong with you people?

Saying we have to pull out now is. Or have you come up with a solution? If so, please let us all in on it, or leave us in peace.

Oh how wrong you are my friend! Leaders in the Church have already declared this war unjust. A fact that American Catholics ignore.

And leaders in the Chruch have not declared this war unjust too. You have blown this smoke before, please leave if you can’t be honest. I have really had enough.

And if we leave now, we hand the lives of millions over to be slaughtered. Don’t you see that?
