An amusing priest about what a priest does now that he is retired–or can you call this retirement?
(Chutzpah according to Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary means supreme self-confidence.)

We have a retired priest near us and he is able to similarly do a lot of things that an active parish priest couldn’t due to the constraints of ‘active’ ministry. It is truly a blessing.

Our priest said when he had a “retirement party,” (I put that in quotes for he said rarely do priests actually retire in the sense we think of as retirement to relax and enjoy more free time), that most priests would “die with their boots on” doing work beyond retirement.

I agree it is a true blessing when our priests continue to serve the Church after they retire.
