:ehh: Let me clarify the following that you stated: All four are correct, I’m not baptized (which I wish to be), my civil husband IS baptized (but NOT catholic), and neither one of us was ever married (but now we are civily), and Marital Problems DO and CONTINUE to exist…now my parish priest took all of that into consideration (or so I think) when I went to speak with him, and since he knows that I’m in a “tuff” spot, he “adviced” me to continue pursuing the Faith, but to also continue with my school (because in the long run, that’ll be my backbone & stability), but that he could not allow me to come into the Church if I was still living with him (unbaptized, unmarried thru the Church, and living together having relations, because it’s basically “incest”,“fornification”, or “pre-marital sex” or some bogus like that…but we have been together for SEVEN years and we have a son together…and plus we are civillary married…
This is why you need to contact your diocese: if “all four [above points] are correct,” then it is untrue that you are having “pre-marital sex.” The Church recognizes non-Catholic marriages to be valid natural marriages.

Assuming everything you’ve said to be correct, your priest is misinformed: you and your husband are married and not living in sin, so your marriage should not be an impediment to entering the Church.
👍GOD BLESS YOU TOO FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND GREAT ADVICE…it’s so great to know that people as yourself still exist!!! Thank You!!! :hug1:
You’re welcome, friend. 🙂

:amen: I have just barely received the good news that I was expecting… after speaking to the Diocese this morning, and explaining my situation…I will be coming into the Church this 2012 Easter!!! :extrahappy: The rude priest whom I had spoken with before and who had criticized me was the one to call me just now and give me the good news… I’m so thankful and relieved!!! I see now afterall that the Lord does work in mysterious ways… I have to go see him tomorrow afternoon and take him my marriage certificate of the justice of the peace so he can have a copy, but then he said that tomorrow he’ll explain the rest of what I’d have to do about my “marriage” status and my unhappy relationship… Thank You all for the great advice, prayers, and kindness of my behalf… :grouphug:

The catholic faith allows you celibacy or fully 100% married under which option in catholic faith are you going to live?
🤷 Well, I’d like to live under the marriage for live proposal, but that will only happen if my husband decides to do better and be better which I have alot of doubt in, but I’ll continue to pray about it… :gopray2:

Well that is great news, I will be coming in on the same day so I am doubly happy for you. I am also shocked that they got this done so quickly, I know how slow the Church can move on some things. I am even more shocked that the same priest would be the one to call you and let you know. I would also keep in mind that this priest has already given you bad information once, so if he says anything that sounds over the top, make sure you double check it before acting on it. I really wish I could understand what he was so upset about in the first place. 🤷

:yyeess: Congratulations to you as well for your coming as well! I truly wasn’t expecting this to be resolved on the same day that I notified the Diocese about it… but the lawyer from there whom I spoke with was very helpful and considerate…God Bless him as well for exploring my “other” options which I wasn’t aware I had, and to all of you who supported me as well 👋 I’m happy to acknowledge so many things I didn’t know about before (including this website which I found thru mistake). I’ll continue to pray over my tough circumstances, and I look forward to April…it will be a magnificent day. :dancing:

It seems that there has been some misunderstanding and/or miscommunication between you and the priest. From your more recent posts I now understand that neither you nor your husband are baptized - if you were, you wouldn’t be getting baptized when you come into the Church. In this case, when you are baptized, and your husband refuses to be baptized, it is possible for your marriage to be dissolved. I think that this is what the priest is addressing. Perhaps the person you contacted in the the Diocese could further explain this to you. It would clarify the situation for you.
