Police officers in England’s Bedfordshire county have been told to take off their shoes and not interrupt anyone praying during raids of Muslim homes, according to leaked guidelines.

The 18-point guide, under development before the recent London bombing attacks, says “the Muslim community feels victimized and suspicious of counter terrorist police operations and in the current climate a search at a British Muslim household has the potential to become a critical incident and come under intense scrutiny.”

this leaves me speechless…! Can you believe it?

I don’t know, this seems fine to me… At least the “don’t interrupt prayers” part. Maybe I’m missing something?

The no shoes thing is kind of iffy, though, I mean… what if the ones they search aren’t innocent and they’ve planted stuff on the floor for the police to step on and get sick or die??

Almost sounds as if its worthless to personally go, just call on the phone. Easier all around.

Nope, can’t call. The police will hear ‘alalalala alalala’ in the background, ask them what that ‘noise’ is and then offend them. Police will get sued, and will have to send telegrams to get people to come in on their own.

In Iraq Mosques were used as bases to hide guns and terrorists. I believe they would act in prayer and use this now published regulation to avoid being searched and then the police would have to keep an eye oin the person right up until the momernt they’ve finished, whereupon they could put them prone.

These raids are like domestic violence calls; incredibly dangerous. They need to keep in mind that they are in a mini war zone, not sensitivity training.
