Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Fayetteville, Atlanta, New York, Nashville, Seattle, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago, Milwaukee, Salt Lake, Washington DC, Detroit, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Kansas City, Houston, Charlotte, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, Tampa, Baltimore, Oakland, Louisville…

What do all those American cities have in common?
  1. They’re all run by Democrats, many for generations.
  2. They’ve all been looted and burned by left-wing Antifa terrorists and other anarchist groups over the past few nights.
That’s no coincidence.

What’s more, these riots are not America’s problem….

These riots are not President Trump’s problem…

Nope, these riots are wholly owned by the Democrat Party and the fools who continue to vote for them. . . .

Fair enough opinion. As fair an opinion as believing you get what your vote for in an America run by the current POTUS when you get the deaths of 104,000 people in 4 months.
 
The violence stays contained to the cities because of 2 obstacles. Lack of easy ways to get to the suburbs and rural areas and the likelihood of meeting well-armed people.

Coincidentally the American Leftist ideas for social policy include banning guns, legally stripping your rights to self-defense, and expanding mass transit systems.

How is Chicago run by Democrats when the mayoral election is non-partisan? The current mayor never before ran for office, either, so don’t try to tell me what party she belongs to. Bloomberg and Giuliani were certainly not Democratic mayors of NYC but they were recent.

I don’t think the American left has a policy or program for banning guns. Besides, as the NRA predicted, the Obama administration confiscated all guns anyway.

I don’t think that left-wing anarchists who engage in these kind of protests are the same people who advocate for gun control laws or laws restricting rights to self-defence. Lots of anarchists are against voting on principle.

Why are the right so incapable of understanding the left? Everyone to the left of Donald Trump is just merged into one big ambiguous mass to them.
 
Anarchists who are against voting are irrelevant to both sides. The ones out smashing things do so only because Democrat leadership condones it via language, stand-down orders given to the police, and refusal to utilize the National Guard.

Anarchy is a pipe dream. People will always need to be ruled.

I have read enough left-wing writing to understand the mindset behind it. I just have the willingness to follow their logical implications to their conclusion.

Hey, @Cathoholic , please list the Republican-led cities and the status of protests in those cities. Your post means nothing without that information.

So you accuse big city mayors of condoning the violence in their cities? Yours is a minority view.

If he wasn’t out there throwing wood on the fire, I think he was preventing more extreme violence. That’s my suspicion. If he condoned any destruction in his city he deserves impeachment. This was not like Wilson Goode bombing the ‘Move’ house.

There’s a documentary on that appropriately titled “Let the fire burn.” But yeah, dropping a bag of explosives on someones building and commanding the fire department not put the fire out was way beyond what was reasonable.

You don’t remember 1967 and 1968? The mayors’ responses this time are much better. You’d rather see police knock some heads and for a high body count in city streets?

I can remember John Lindsay walking the streets of Harlem to keep things calm in the sixties. Our president should learn from his example.
 
This should not be turned into a POLITICAL battle for domination by either party, instead we all need to recognize, we are all the same just with opposing views. To say LEFT or RIGHT we are in fact talking about the same democracy.

These protests are a reflection of AMERICAS form of democracy, whether Democrat or Republican it shouldn’t matter, as both sides only want what is best for the majority.

Not at all! I remember '68 and the ‘police riot’. Do you want gun battles between rioters and police for days? That was 1968!

What we have is looters now. What we had then was on-going gun battles with dead police officers and dead rioters. No historian or Chicagoan says that Daley handled things well.
 
By now, the peaceful protesters are well aware of the damage done to their cause by the violence and the looting. Hence they probably should restrict themselves to daytime protests when it will be considerably easier in the sunlight to police the ranks and kick out the instigators.

But if the protesters feel they can police themselves at night, ok, but it will take constant vigilance on their part to make sure the rabble rousers don’t sneak in and do their damage. White people spraying “BLM” with other epithets so black people get blamed. There are videos of that one.
