Nominations for Worst Musician / Group

My dad used to play their album on vinyl when I was a baby. Then he up-graded to CD’s when I was in my teens, so I had to be subjected to that horror while riding with him in his car. Plus, I don’t trust white men with afro’s who can sing higher than a girl like me.
I got him back with my punk rock when I was in High School. And now I torture him with my Pogues and Flogging Molly music. Yes!

That guy in Creed sounds like he’s gargling.

And – there was a rumor going around years ago that KISS stood for “Knights In Satan’s Service.” You may have something there.

Ooh, you’d have loads of fun with our good old Australian band Wolfmother - fantastic 'fros for a bunch of white guys, and they sing pretty high too.
 
The worst hands down was The Plastic Ono Band with Yoko Ono on “vocals”. She sounded like a large parrot dying a horrible death. It is amazing how love can totally cloud the judgment of even a genious like John Lennon. My wife and I saw a brief (all we could stand) video of Shakira on TV. She is almost as bad as Yoko. If there were two notes on pitch we did not hear them.

The claims about KISS being satanic were all bogus as was the “Knights In Satan’s Service” nonsense. While they are CERTAINLY NOT role models and were very prone to “earthly excess” their major influence was extreme capitalism. They invented music marketing.

I was at a coffeehouse once where they had open mic night. Some girl did a Yoko Ono cover, howling and all. The host pulled the plug because all the customers were running for the door.:eek:

Bob Dylan
The Rolling Stones
Mariah Carey
ZZ Top

I’m sure there are more, but that’s all I can think of right now.

A lot people are probably going to disagree…but I think Heart is one of the worst. I HATE their music sooo much, I’d rather listen to nails on a chalkboard.

I agree though about Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Paris Hilton, K-Fed and Ashley Simpson…might as well add Fergie to that list to.

Celine Dion. Mariah Carey. And any other screechy chick singer.

Now if you want to listen to someone good, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Peggy Lee. Those ladies didn’t have rely on cheap gimmicks (Madonna, I am talking to you), they could sing.
 
Tonight, I have to languish through a Billy Joel concert. :crying:

Oh, well, it’s only fair – I’ve dragged my wife to enough Ozzfests over the years. 👍
 
Actually, I didn’t think it was going to happen either, but Justin Timberlake seems to be working at redeeming himself musically.

Not that I’m a huge Michael Bolton fan (he’s ok) but some of those songs aren’t remakes. Some of them he wrote for other artists and later sang himself.
