Funny how secular America tries to ignore Blessed Mother Teresa (like the Empire State Buildings owners refusal to light the building in honor of her 100th, but they celebrate religious holidays of Easter, Eid al Fitr (marking the end of Ramadan), Hanukkah, and Christmas,)

The people I know in India already refer to Mother Teresa as “saint”, or the Hindu equivilant, “Sri.” I’m not at all surprised the India is celebrating the 100 anniversary of Mother Teresa’s birth. Partly because Mother Teresa was devoted to the poor of India. Partly because Indian Hindus honor Lord Jesus and Mother Mary very devoutly. I wouldn’t be surprised if more is made of this holy woman’s life in India than in the U.S. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hindus pray to her more than Catholics do. The Hindu people of India are deeply spiritual and take the matter of loving God and honoring their own souls very seriously.
