I am just curious to know what the reasons are that so many non-Catholics are on this forum. This is Catholic Answers. Are you here to convert - yourself - or us? Do you have a true curiousity or do you just want to show us the error of our ways?

Because there is a section here titled: **Non-Catholic Religions ** LOL And I am curious about you guys being that I was baptized as one of you peeps as an infant. Besides, this would be a dull area if there were no non-catholic to post! Admit it, you would miss us if we were not here. Well…some of you would. 👍

I bet some wake up and say…“Ahh, now lets see what the non-catholics have posted!”

Speaking only for myself: neither. I have no wish to convert or be converted. I do have Catholic relatives and friends that are dear to me. I’m also someone that tries to understand another person’s POV. If I have a question about what a Catholic believes, I’ll ask a Catholic. Also, since the board is open to everyone and there are also assumptions made by Catholics towards Protestants…I feel the right to correct anything that is not representing our view correctly.

I myself am me… I follow the Buddhist practices because I’ve found them to be extremely logical, and they really don’t conflict with other religions, and it’s not even a religion itself according to most scholars. It’s the moderation, middle, balance, center between extremes that is quite peaceful.

I went to Catholic schools for almost 12 years and I enjoyed my time at them very much, although I was the only atheist in school that I knew of. I'm not out to convert people to what I believe, and I'm not here to convert myself, I'm just here to offer another opinion in this melting pot of ideas. I'd like everyone to find happiness, and wish no one to be unhappy, that's my goal.

I have met awesome open minded Catholics, and strange closed minded buddhists in the world, and vice versa, but thats not their religions doing, it's their own choice.. So I'm here to lend a hand in advice, ideas, opinions, thoughts, etc..

Rather suspicious, aren’t we? Where’s the love? Ooh, I love that there’s this: :hypno: Watch out now, just watch the concentric circles…you’re being converted…

Honestly, I try to stay away from non-Catholic postings.

What they said above:thumbsup: I have to admit though it became an addiction for me:o Now I am just getting bored.😦 Same old topics–same old arguments

I also have to say though that ,through CAF, I met a woman whom Im going to meet this Saturday. To clarify, I am a married woman with children as she is as well. We started talking and became friends. I was going to visit family near where she lives so we decided to meet half way. We are both very excited. So see, CAF is good for something.😛 😉 She is bringing her husband and Im bringing my children.😃 I have met some other great people here at CAF and I look forward to meeting them in heaven if I dont meet them in this lifetime.

Thanks for asking:D

So you are here to correct us - to help us see our errors?

I don’t think curious and suspicious are synonyms. As I stated I am curious why non-Catholics would be on a Catholic forum. I personally have never felt the need or desire to go to a protestant forum, neither to learn, convert or just out of curiousity.

What is the point of Catholic Answers if you have no one to answer?

I think it’s quite funny that some Catholics are so insecure that they keep starting threads like this. If you want this to be a Catholic-only forum, ask the moderators to change their policy. It’s their decision.

I originally came here to take another look at Catholicism after having been away for 20 years. I stayed because I enjoy discussing theology/religion with people. I learn alot about how/why people believe as they do. And in participating I learn more about my own beliefs and motivations.

I participate in a number of religious forums of varied faiths. No interest in being converted or converting on my part in any of them. I belong for the fellowship.

:hypno: Just keep looking. Yes, yes, you’re getting closer to your computer screen.

Interreligious dialogue is important, but not forced upon anyone…those of us who like learning about others beliefs do so here. :tiphat:

We’re people, human beings, and people separate themselves from others because of different ideas when we should collaborating together.

Whoa, Nellie!! Don’t roll your eyes at me. There is absolutely no insecurity here, just true curiousity. The point of Catholic Answers is to answer Catholic questions. I am curious as to why a non-Catholic would come here as I have never felt the desire to frequent a non-Catholic forum.

Maybe you need to be less quick to judgement.

I come here because in a way I learn how to be a better christian. Sometimes from just observing and listening things are seen better for what they are. Since I joined I have done more research on differing faiths and have gained more spiritualy from it.

Why? Just curious;)
Because although I believe firmly with every fiber of my being that I am in the right place (the One True Church), I also know that I have a lot to learn and Satan has a way of confusing and confounding.

A whole lot more insulting and sarcastic than was needed to say that you just like to learn about the beliefs of others. Why so circuitous? It makes me wonder about your true motives.

I actually got suspended on this forum for 2 weeks because I had a different opinion about something. But this thread is perhaps the best I’ve seen yet!
