I was doing a google search for some obscure thing about Catholicism that I was curious about. I can’t even remember what it was now, but this site popped up in the results. It turns out somebody had made a thread about the same exact thing I was wondering about.

I didn’t join immediately, but I did after the forums kept appearing in my google searches over and over again.

I am a fairly recent to Catholicism, and as such, I was surfing the web, looking for sites where I could pick up on aspects and rituals of the faith not described in the Catechism.I found this place, which is great, since I can ask any question I think of and get answers from many sources, Catholic and otherwise.

GoLatin,

I was on a search for all things pertaining to Catholicism several years ago, and wanted to understand exactly what the Church taught, etc. One day I ‘Googled’ the words ‘Catholic Forum’ and one of the sites was this one.

Found these Forums, after hearing about it on CATHOLIC ANSWERS on WCAR 1090am radio in Detroit, but Ive known about catholic.com for some time, and also tried dot org, and dot net.

i found it the day of Pope Benedict XVI’s election. I googled his name and came across this site. I lost the link for a long while and then happened to type in Catholic.com and thankfully i randomly found it again!

GoLatin:
I am interested in knowing how non-Catholics, and converts to Catholicism from other religions, found the CA Forums.

I am not quite sure how I found the CA Forums, but it may have been I was on the Internet one day, and thought something like this: “Hey, I think that I will type in www.catholic.com and see what I find. There is probably an Internet site with that address”.
I am a convert (17 years) and had found Catholic Answers many years ago (I think that it was around 10 years ago.) I believe that I read about it in a copy of Envoy Magazine. I was an early subscriber but let my subscription run out after I lost my job many years ago.

I just recently signed up for the forum after hearing about it on Redeemer Radio out of Fort Wayne IN.
