Non-catholics do you believe the Apostles were commanded to build the Church Jesus promissed?

I have and thank you for your post. In reading All of the Scriptures, I am sure that you are aware of all the things that come about in that grace receiving faith such as good works, suffering, persecution and joy.

my tone? i was simply stating that Catholics believe that Protestants contain truth but not all truth as the Catholic church posesses all truth. That is the doctrine of the Catholic church.

I’m sorry, in various posts I always read what kind of furniture is needed in a “church”. I also read posts by Catholics about what Protestant buildings lack for a “real church”, alter, crucifix etc.

Some of the posts has made fun that some Protestant “churches” actually meet in a warehouse…imagine that…a warehouse!!! so I was just drawing attention that for most Protestants an priest isn’t necessary to impart any ordinances or conduct any rites on our behalf at an alter or in a building. We minister to one another in the bond of love…not to say that Catholics don’t…I was simply answering the question…not intending to start an argument.🙂

Please do not take this to mean we believe a building is necessary.

During Desert Storm I went to mass that was held in a field. It was no less of a mass than I have in my current parish.

If every Catholic building was destroyed today, the Catholic Church would still be here.

While a building may be called a church, in reference to the Church as a whole, ‘church’ means community.

Understood, I was merely trying to clarify a point and draw attention to an inconsistancy in many posts that tend to be very “anti-Protestant”, nothing more.

what good does it do for you to read SS and not follow it.

because the only thing you guys are interested on is that salvation by grace trhough faith in Jesus.

i am sure you read that so many times you must know taht by now. no reason to continue to read anything else. right?

I’m Catholic. Of course I read scripture … a lot.
… and follow it.

As a Catholic, all that we have is from God’s grace.
Now what we do with that grace is also very important.

I also read many other books.

I’m interested these days in writings of the Christians in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th centuries. (The Four Witnesses)

I also like reading conversion stories. I like seeing them go from hating the church to being surprised that the church actually got one thing right … and another … .and another … and to see the fear that the Catholic Church (of all things) might be the church that Jesus founded. Then you see the love. The sacrifices some make to become Catholic move me. Most lose friends and family for years or for good to do what they think is right. It’s amazing to see them follow Christ no matter the cost.

I like Michael Crichton, too.

yes, because we are not afraid to back in the past and read about early christian church because we know we find ourselves there.

yes. it is beautifull their conversion stories.

i enjoy hearing and reading them too.
