i didnt get a prayer and i shared something. really what i said was from the heart of what i am going through and it got ignored.
I have not ignored your posts and have carefully read each one. I will say a prayer for you and your son.

i didnt say to sneak i was just emphasizing how important it is
I had written earlier that I had considered having my son baptized in secret while still Orthodox but had decided against it. I am sure this is what pianistclare has referred to.

don’t think i dont understand because im not married. i had a long term relationship with someone who was distrustful of religion and i had to compromise so much just to make him happy. when i finally got out of that mess i ended up with a guy who is not anti religion and lets me be myself yet he is still an unbeliever. we have a son now (newborn) and i have been praying and praying about what to do. (whether to get married or not) every time i ask for advice on this site i get the most unsympathetic stuff. i am still struggling with what i should do and all i arrived at is we are supposed to put Jesus first. God loves the non believers too so we hope they can turn to Him but we should cherish our walk with Him first. your wife is anti religion and honestly those people irk me as i have said i had a very rough relationship with someone who was distrustful of religion. never again will i let someone like that influence my feelings and actions and i hope your wife doesnt influence yours because it sounds like she can. ( pull you away from God, that is) Put God first. all i was saying.
Thanks for sharing. Put God first… I fully agree!

And I hope I haven’t misrepresented my wife. She is not at all “anti religious”. I would say she is just disinterested in religion. See, both of us were raised in non-religious homes. Going to church has actually taken some getting used to for me, and my wife just feels uncomfortable and out of place there. But she doesn’t have it out for religion. She has some family members - an uncle and his 12 or so kids - who got involved in some weird kind of hyperfundamentalist Christian denomination. One of the girls is a runaway, some of the other kids are messed up, and for awhile they became estranged from the rest of the family. She also has some homosexual cousins. She comes from a very liberal, non-religious background, and so religion is just kind of alien to her and she isn’t comfortable or interested in it.

I can say that we’ve come a long way. The fact that we say grace together is a big step, and the fact that she supports me taking Eli to Mass are both indicitive of things moving in the right direction. I highly, highly doubt she will ever become Catholic, although I continue to pray for it, but I do not want to let my son down and want him to be raised up in the faith (to the best of my abilities given the circumstances).
