Anyone else have some games that really bring back memories? When I was a kid I loved video games. Some favorites of mine were Lego Racers, Rollercoaster Tycoon, the Harry Potter games, and many airplane games to name a few.

If I play any of these games nowadays they just bring back innocent childhood memories. Maybe not so innocent for Rollercoaster Tycoon though, that game could have a sadistic streak… 😜

Halo: Combat Evolved. It was one of my first games, and I was heavy into modding. I wasn’t good at modding, but it was a lot of fun to be able to do stuff in the game you usually couldn’t. I think I had 2-3 years invested in the game for just that reason.

I also played Frogger, Zoo Tycoon, the Sims, Sonic Heroes…

In other words, I was a nerd and had no social life 😆

Super Mario Bros 3, which I’ve played on the NES, SNES (All Stars version) and is downloaded on my 3DS.

Sonic the hedgehog. And Tetris. Soo many wasted hours… 🤣

Video games? We played real live games in my childhood, like hide and go seek, and board games too, like Monopoly 😠. However, my son (now in his 30s) liked to play Frogger when he was very young, and later the Final Fantasy RPG video games for some years.

Lol, yes, video games were more of a thing in my teen years. Before then I climbed trees and rode my bike. Young folk these days. Tsk. 🤣

I saw a megadrive in a local buy back shop the other day.

Pong

😝

No, more like Space Invaders, Pole Position, PacMan., etc…

Chill out. I had time for both…as did many kids. We had an educational gaming system. The first non-educational game I played was Mario Party with my cousins.

I live in an area where you can’t go outside for more than a couple hours–or sometimes at all–for months at a time because of the cold. A few video games were good for the spirit. Gave us some time to work together and not want to kill each other in our too-small house for 4 active children. (more if we had our cousins over).

We played lego and poly pocket, barbies and lincoln logs we told stories over viewmaster slides and spent hours engineering with K’nex. We made our own adventures…but playing video games was part of it, and I don’t think it harmed us one bit. Video games weren’t consuming to us. They were just another to we had.

Maybe we were just kids who were not prone to addictive behaviors…but again, they were just another game.

Thanks to my mother, I’ve spent many hours with Space Invaders.

If I could get my disc drive opened, I’d be playing The Sims 3 right now. Instead, it’s stuck with disc 2 from a French book. Which is useful, but it makes it hard to put discs 3 and 4 on the PC.
