One reminder that hasn’t come up in this thread. Please remember that charting, in and of itself is totally neutral. A woman can morally *chart *from the onset of menses until menopause for any reason whatsoever. It requires no just, serious, or grave reason to gather information. I plan to teach my daughter what mucous is from day one. Since I plan to teach her what bleeding means, I most certainly plan to teach her what mucous means too. Please folks, remember in threads like these that charting is neutral. The only things requiring just reason are the *exclusive use of the infertile phase, or total abstinence *!
Another reminder. Those who do not **have **to make exclusive use of the infertile phase are NOT putting things in God’s hand more than those who have to space/avoid. Please, please, please remember not to rub your good health and financial blessings in the face of those of us who have little. Each and every time I engage in the marital act I place my entire life in God’s hands, whether I am fertile or not! Bleeding out, emergency hysterectomies run in my family. Without NFP I would be called to no children.
Finally, to the OP. Chart or don’t, whichever works on that particular day. Moral use of NFP is not just about fertility. It is about each and every time you engage in the marital embrace. Does God want you together today? Does God want you to renew your marital vows? Charting is just information. My parents record how much fuel they put in their cars and how many miles they have driven, at each and every fill-up. They are gathering information on the efficiency of the vehicle. I do it sometimes, or not at all. I chart my fertility very similarly and I have VERY serious reasons to space my children.
ALL marriages are called to a prayerful marital embrace. ALL couples are called to generosity in having children. ALL couples are called to responsible parenthood. My two children are of equal generosity to someone else’s 10 children. Let’s ALL remember these points in discussions like this.
Prayers for you Baby Doll. Congratulations on the new baby!!
