If you look at the above list it appears you enjoy playing Russian roulette with your soul. Hard to believe your story since you say you was baptized as a child. Also I’m sure the religions after Muslim probably baptized you also? Baptism is a once in a lifetime event so either you didn’t explain to these other religions that you were already baptized or you’re not telling everything. You have a serious problem for sure. I don’t know if you should see a priest or a psychologist.

Opps. I originally overlooked the Mormon bit. So you went from not believing Jesus was God - to believing He was God - to not believing He was God - to now believing He is God - to now you’re not sure since you like the sound of the JW’s?

Seriously, you need to learn who Jesus is. You are very

I recently coverted to the catholic faith about three months ago. At that time I became so infatuated with the religion that I wanted to become a priest to, but now I am having second thoughts.

I have a hard time making up my mind which religion I want to follow, they all have an appeal to me.I was born gnostic, but have changed religons so many times my friends never can keep track.

and now I have been an offical catholic for a few months now. It was so exciting taking all the classes to become a catholic, going through initation, and being babtised by a catholic priest. I have enjoyed participating in the eucharist. Unfortunately now going to church seems to much like a routine and I am becoming bored with the catholic faith, my heart is begining to look at other religions.

The last couple weeks I have become obsessed with Jehovah witnesses, completely absorbed in everything I read about them.
I don’t believe you at all !!!, We don’t rebaptize, unless you’ve never been baptized in a trinitarian formula, (Lutheran, is a valid baptism, and you couldn’t have joined them without being baptized, we don’t baptize adults outside of the Easter Vigil unless you happen to be in danger of dying, (are you?)
No priest would have discerned that you were ready to come into the Church with your ideas.

You’re playing games. If you were baptized Catholic you would not be making these statements:

“I recently converted to the Catholic faith about three months ago,”

and

“I have enjoyed participating in the eucharist.”

Catholics are baptized into the Church and we don’t “participate in the eucharist,” we take Holy Communion.

You’re either woefully out of touch with what you were supposed to learn in RCIA (you do know what that means, don’t you?) or you think you are being funny on a religious website.

I think you’re not serious and of doubtful integrity.

By the way, it’s AGNOSTIC not GNOSTIC.
I find this post highly offensive and ignorant.

#1. We Catholics do NOT “take” the Eucharist, it is a gift given to us by Jesus Christ Himself, therefore we receive the Eucharist.

#2. It sounds as though you weren’t paying attention in your CCD classes, yourself. Read some of the documents from the CA Library.

#3. There are Gnostics and Agnostics.

Have you realized that you have found the true One in Catholics? Keep praying and you will no longer have to search for Him. Talk to a priest or even ask questions here, they will let you know why many JW’s believes are wrong.

If you truely believed that the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ is found in the Eucharist…you would look no farther.

I am a convert to Catholicism and feel so blessed that I wouldn never dream of looking any other place for Christ. The Catholic Church is the fullness of the truth. 👍

I can relate a bit to you myself. But instead of different religions I stayed within Christianity. I grew up a Presbyterian (PCUSA), than when I was about 10 my mom went to a revival meeting and we moved to the A/G (Assembly oF God) and stayed there.

I went to an A/G College for a bit, but I came home and didn’t buy into their tongue speaking stuff and when I was in College we were changlled (sp) by our NT Professor to find out if what we believe was our own beliefs or our parents. Mine weren’t my own and I started my journey and studied all kinds of churches and the Catholic Church kept sticking out. So I went to a Mass and called Fr. to get instruction and converted.

My problem comes in because sometimes I question myself if I did the right thing and I find when I miss Mass and partaking of the Blessed Eucharist for a length of time that the questioning becomes intense and that’s what happened about 2 years ago, through different circumstances I missed a lot of consecutive Masses and beginning question my salvation.

Heard a protestant sermon and determined I wasn’t, prayed the prayer and became a Calvinist full blown 5 pointer during all this it has done nothing but cause havoc in my Family. Just before Christmas I saw an advent wreath and something came over me and I just broke and told God I was sorry for making a mess and it was at that moment I knew I needed to go back to confession and Mass and receive Christ in the Blessed Eucharist.

Why did I say all this? To be able to tell you not to forsake our Blessed Lord in the Eucharist and know that you made the right choice becoming a Catholic.

Valke, I love your honesty 🙂 , you’re so cute
By the way I have a joke for you that I will post in the Water Cooler section

To the OP,
It sounds like you are addicted to study.
So am I.
I am currently doing a Diploma in Accounting.
I love being a student as an adult, things are so interesting in this world, and I love the social aspect of school, and all the assignments and research etc.
Unfortunately as some have said, you cant play with your soul like that.
There are a heap of things to study within Catholicism, the RCIA wont have taught u much at all.
I would grab my hands on any writings at all on the faith, and maybe even do a Theology degree at uni.
But dont leave the faith, study it more, and pray.

mattjtayl: your wrong two seperate religons my friend. Gnostics are christians and believe in secret knowledge of God only they posses, while agnostics believe in just a supreme being.
Actually, agnostics are skeptical about whether there is a god. It is called “economical/practical atheism.” If they believe in a god(s), then they are deists…😉

BTW; it’s interesting that you were gnostic, as I’ve never known of anyone to hold that faith. Don’t you wear some kind of tattoo, so other gnostics can identify you?

Prayers and petitions,
Alexius:cool:

Out of all the church hoppin you’ve done, the catholic faith you’ve only dedicated 3 moths into, the least amount of time out of all of them, and now your looking at Jehovah witness? Go for it! Your just cruisin through… especially when you’ve “enjoyed” participating in the eucharist… and are so eager to move on?.. To partake of the Holy Eucharist isn’t the same as “enjoying” pumpkin pie at grandma’s house on thanksgiving, and now your ready for Christmas! :bounce:

To embrace the Truth of what you have in the Holy Eucharist both in faith and love is something Inseparable…. I can’t see how anyone after 3 months is so anxious to walk away from the greatest mystery of God’s Love which we have in the Blessed Sacrament, the heart of the Church… unless you never truly believed.

If the Church that our Lord and Savior founded, the “Catholic Church” is so routine and boring for you, May I suggest before you go to another man made religion, you might be interested in starting your own church. 😃 whatever you can put together is no less true then you’ll find anywhere else! 👍

Seems to me that you’re looking to be translated directly into heaven like Enoch and Elijah were. It’s not going to happen.

Either that, or else you are jumping from one faith to another faith in way not much different from people who jump from one relationship to another based on false expectations.

Often, when the relationship doesn’t measure up with their expectations, they become bored and look elsewhere.

Very often, though, there was nothing really wrong with the previous relationships they were in. They just never quite realized that they had false expectations and that their disillusionment has more to do with their own unrealistic demands than anything their partner failed to live up to.

On the plus side, you’re at the right place, so you won’t find any faith offering any more in-depth beliefs than what you’ve already found in Catholicism. Catholicism is the closest you’ll get to God in this life.

Indeed, God lives in you-- and you in him.

Interesting post. Like the one I saw today about the dream you had at the age of 11. Lemme think…

I got it. How about Atheist for a while? Just to check it out. Its no pressure, costs no money up front, and no long term contracts. No commitment - and best of all- its got only one requirement!

Now, I dont know how exciting it is but the good news is that you can enter into a new appreciation or a small foretaste for what you may end up facing if you were to die in a mortal sin unrepentantly. Absence of God. (albeit in a much different way) but a good test of sorts to see what kind of danger you may be slipping into with this hopping around that never seems to satisfy.

Hopefully you wont have to do this and you can stay a Catholic with an effort on your part. If not, Jw’s will keep you physically fit going door to door.

Either way, you are in many persons prayers and hopes for the best for you.

mattjtayl,

Is your post honest and sincere or are you baiting and waiting for a bite?

I ask because I reviewed your previous threads and in one you state
I decided to pretend I was a Fundamentalist Christian and make up a lot of false information about my DnD experiences just to see if any Catholics would bite the bait.
In September you stated
I would really like to be a catholic some day, it would be great to be a church leader, but if masons can’t be catholics I have no choice I must be a protestant then.

I have been seriously thinking about joining the priesthood lately, there is just one problem I don’t believe in god. Is it wrong for a priest to be an athiest?

As a result, I am confused and left wondering…

You summed up your problem with one word: “infatuation.”
You seem to be drawn to the emotional highs, and when the high disspears, you start looking for something else.
Sometimes in life, we have emotional lows. And that’s not just in faith, but in life in general. If I quit my job every time I felt that it was becoming boing I’d have gone through 20 jobs in the past 6 months.

I am not afraid to say it after looking at the above posts. This guy is a LIAR. Playing adolescent games at our expense. Grow up fellow. It’s not nice to try and take advantage of good Christian people.

astegallrnc,
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to bond with me. I am so glad you are taking a personal interest in my posting history, others would read and just not care to respond. You have gone even further you have investigated me. How much time did that take ya? Taking all that time out of your day to read all my posts. Thank you, thank you so much.

You are welcome! I read fast. 🙂 If a thread is fishy, I often review a member’s post/thread history before I reply… it gives me insight. So, is this a sincere, honest thread or are you baiting us?
