Thread is a Hoax. The OP could not have become a Catholic 3 Months ago. Becuase 3 months ago the OP was an athiest. THis is an individual who is toying with the forum.

Attempting to remember charity but what kind of person comes on a forum just to tell stories and pretend? Reminds me of Ed Norton’s Fight Club character going to the coping with cancer support groups.

Oh, and the so-called dream thread… Here’s a link to anyone interested but I pray the mods delete it…

Unfortunately now going to church seems to much like a routine and I am becoming bored with the catholic faith, my heart is begining to look at other religions.
If you are bored then it could be several things.

  1. *]You might be so used to change because you don’t seem to stick with one thing for more than a year.
*]You might be relying only on “feelings” instead of pure faith
*]You probably look to be “entertained” by the Mass
*]Your RCIA classes probably didn’t cover enough about the faith
*]Your RCIA classes probably did not emphasize on the real meaning of the Mass
*]You probably need other people with whom you can go to Mass

The last couple weeks I have become obsessed with Jehovah witnesses, completely absorbed in everything I read about them.
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/Shock.gif Noooo not JW! Anything but JW! No I take that back, not anything. Just stay here with the Church that Jesus started for you! :gopray2: Please stay!

Why wouldn’t I? In order to become Catholic I had to be babtized by the church. I was already babtised as a kid, but that didn’t count I quess.
WRONG! If you were already baptized, the Catholic Church would’ve never baptized you a second time. Any Triune formula Baptism in a Christian church would count in the Catholic Church.

My step dad is the one who urged me to join his catholic church, my mother recently converted to the catholic faith so she could marry my step dad in a catholic church.
She did not have to convert to the Catholic Faith to marry your stepdad. All that was needed was permission from the Bishop. But if she wanted to convert to really be a Catholic then more power to her. 😃

I recently coverted to the catholic faith about three months ago. At that time I became so infatuated with the religion that I wanted to become a priest to, but now I am having second thoughts.

I have a hard time making up my mind which religion I want to follow, they all have an appeal to me.I was born gnostic, but have changed religons so many times my friends never can keep track.

gnostic up until I was 18
budism/yoga 6 months
zorastarism 1 year
muslim 4 years
pentecostal 1 years
presbyterian 3 years
Lutheran 2 years
Mormon 1 year
Catholic presently

and now I have been an offical catholic for a few months now. It was so exciting taking all the classes to become a catholic, going through initation, and being babtised by a catholic priest. I have enjoyed participating in the eucharist. Unfortunately now going to church seems to much like a routine and I am becoming bored with the catholic faith, my heart is begining to look at other religions.

I was a Mormon for 32 years before I became Catholic. You might want to take the time to really try Catholicism before jettisoning it. Do you go to mass everyday or as often as possible? Maybe you should try it. Do you pray the Rosary or the Divine Mercy chaplet everyday? Maybe you should try that for awhile. Do you read from the Bible and the Catechism everyday? Maybe you should try that for awhile. I don’t know how one could become bored with the Catholic faith if you really took seriously the idea that the Eucharist is the body and blood of Christ.

I can’t think of many worse choices than the Jehovah’s Witnesses. They suck all of the joy out of life – I saw that with my great aunts.

I am currently doing a Diploma in Accounting.
I have a degree in Accounting! http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/ha.gif And I don’t even find it interesting anymore. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/laughduh.gif
But it sure came in handy for being Board President for several years in my Condominium Association. 😉
I wanted to also study to be a teacher. Hey at least I am a teacher here at home; I home school my daughter. 🙂
Now I want to study Theology in a good Catholic University. I would also love to be a Pediatric Nurse. There’s just too much I would love to do.
But I know one thing, I will never be confused about my Faith. I want to stay Catholic forever! 😃

I love being a student as an adult, things are so interesting in this world, and I love the social aspect of school, and all the assignments and research etc.
Same here. I didn’t go to college straight from HS. But that was about 15 years ago. Oh boy, I’m really aging myself. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/Laughing.gif but that’s okay. I’m still young. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/Laughing.gif

Unfortunately as some have said, you cant play with your soul like that.
There are a heap of things to study within Catholicism, the RCIA wont have taught u much at all.
That’s right, RCIA wouldn’t have taught him much at all.

I would grab my hands on any writings at all on the faith, and maybe even do a Theology degree at uni.
But dont leave the faith, study it more, and pray.
Yes, if you’re legit and not pulling our leg, then study and pray. :gopray2:

He said he was a muslim for four year.

mattjtayl,

Is your post honest and sincere or are you baiting and waiting for a bite?

I ask because I reviewed your previous threads and in one you state
I decided to pretend I was a Fundamentalist Christian and make up a lot of false information about my DnD experiences just to see if any Catholics would bite the bait.
Oh boy… :whacky: Is that why you are banned mattjtayl?

eta… about this being banned business. I have seen some posters “banned” and yet they still post here. What gives? I don’t get it. If someone is banned should they not be able to post?

What is it with people who have nothing better to do than just lie and stir a pot? What a horribly pitiful existence. I think this person needs our prayers more than anything - he/she is extremely misdirected.

Hi, religion is man-made but faith is of God. The Bible defines faith as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). The bible says faith comes by hearing, hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17). The bible also says to walk by Faith not by sight (2Cr 5:7).

I suggest you get a King James bible which is a very accurate translation from the original bible Hebrew/Greek to English. Start with John then Matthew, Mark, Luke, then keep reading and studying.

God said to study to shew thyself approved unto God… (2Tim 2:15).

mattjtayl, if you want to remain Catholic and your faith is shaky, then don’t listen to JesusOnly. He/she is not Catholic; his/her name alone tells me that. No Catholic is a “Jesus only” Christian. And I don’t see Protestants as “Jesus only” Christians either if you really think about it. That would be against scripture.

For such a yung person, the OP has spent most of his time immersed in “religion”, highly unusual for most young people. It is obvious he is just a jokester poster! We need to pray for him, but first we need to know what prayers he prefers us to use…Muslim? Catholic? ???

Love and peace,

I know for myself when I a interested in something I go 110% learning about it so I have to tell myself to slow down as I do not want to get bored with something I enjoy.
Wow…I haven’t been on this forum in ages, but this is a good topic and I totally understand you here. Our faith is so much more than a hobby, but if you try to grasp at everything with the mind, it can’t be done. You cannot touch God with your mind–you touch Him with your spirit. “Taste and see the Lord is good.”

I think the OP is looking for a reality, but using the wrong organ to find it–that is, the mind. Experiencing God is like tasting honey. No one can hand the experience to you through an analytical study (though this can sometimes help your understanding)–you have to taste Him in your depths. You see, you can see truth, touch truth, walk right up to it and still never see it unless the spiritual eyes are open.

Recall the blind man whom Jesus healed. The first time, He asked him, “What do you see?” And the man said, “I see men walking as trees.” The man’s eyes saw a little light, but he couldn’t make out the significance of what he saw. Jesus touched him a second time and he saw the world as God had made it. This is the second touch we all need.

Any version of Christianity can become boring after a time. It’s not about the how-tos–it’s about touching the Person of Jesus Christ in your spirit. When you do that, the most routine things become rich every day.

Hohohohohoho - oh, that’s a hoot! Oh, really! That’s great!

Hey, shouldn’t that be in the jokes forum?
