Today,Divine Mercy Sunday the Knights of Columbus world-wide begin a nine day novena for Pope Benedict XVI who is now undergoing figurative crucifixtion.I encourage EVERYONE to join us.Any Novena will suffice.I’m praying to St Anne ,Mother of the Blessed Virgin.This thread is about an invitation to a novena.If you want to bash the Pope I’m asking you to do it elsewhere as there are plenty of threads already doing that.Drop that stone and join us in prayer for the next nine days.Thank you.

Lord, source of eternal life and truth,
give to your shepherd, Benedict, a spirit
of courage and right judgment, a spirit
of knowledge and love. By governing
with fidelity those entrusted to his care,
may he, as successor to the Apostle
Peter and Vicar of Christ, build your
Church into a sacrament of unity, love
and peace for all the world.

V/ Let us pray for Benedict, the Pope.

Beat me to it:). I just returned from Divine Mercy Sunday w/Mass as well, and the knights of columbus after Mass led us all in the Novena prayer for our Holy Father. Was going to post it with the article from kofc. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS…WE ALL NEED TO PRAY DAILY FOR OUR HOLY FATHER…THE NOVENA IS IMPORTANT AS WE ARE ALL STORMING HEAVEN FOR HIM. The persecution he is enduring is profound. It is no exageration to say that this attack is truly Satan inspired.

Thank you for posting this.

At our Pastoral Council meeting last week the pastor handed cards out with this prayer on it.

I will carry the card with me and pray.
 
Thanks for stating the novena! We will be praying for the Pope during this difficult time for him and OUR church.
 
I received a copy of the Novena for the Pope after Mass last Sunday and have already started praying it and I am saying other prayers for the Pope that the Holy Spirit will guide and strenghten him during this time.
